this might've already been answered been answered but where would you guys recommend ordering these online?
I've never been big into Beast Wars, but the artwork alone is hooking me. Both interior and all cover art looks phenomenal.
I’ve been thinking while I’m not against new characters being made. I think I only want new characters if we’re getting toys of them. Otherwise there isn’t much of a point for them to exist. I mean Transformers is a toy line after all.
Beast Wars has always been about the story and characters for me first, toys second. I know that's not how Hasbro thinks about them, but I mean... if they DON'T make toys of them... I guess that is how they think of them? But I always liked the transmutate episode, even though we didn't get a toy of her years later (strange friend is amazing). Ravage was a great way to add to the finale of season 2, even if he didn't get a toy in North America. I would to get toys of the new characters... but I just want the new characters to be fun and interesting first and foremost. If we get toys of them, then that's bonus.
You know what I'm seriously hoping to see in this comic in later issues? Some more of the Vok's machinations. Some more relics in the same vein as the standing stones or Brigadoon. Part of this stems from the fact that the Vok artifacts are cool as shit (and The Trigger parts 1 and 2 are easily some of my favorite episodes of the show) but part of this is because between Beast Wars and Beast Wars II, I feel an inherent part of the setting is that there's something that's just... off about this new world the characters find themselves in. In the case of the former it's the Vok's tampering with the planet in the name of some grand, vaguely defined experiment, and in the case of BWII it's the fact that it pretty clearly takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, made even more apparent when Neo reveals that Angolmois is Unicron's lifeblood. So yeah, I'd love to see some more of the Vok's experiments, and of course provided we get a nice long run, the Vok themselves.
Yup. I am kinda surprised we aren't getting a Quin Judge retooled as the Vok in Kingdom. Selects or otherwise. As with everything I've liked about the original series, I hope the ongoing uses it's slower pacing to actually flesh out stuff like the Council, Vok, etc. Lots of cool mythos in BW that we could see explored with more time/depth.
Ooh this off to a promising start. I so hope we get a remake of the Vok impersonating Unicron scene from the cartoon. Doing something like this with the background with an outline of The Vok's real form in the shadow but much better drawn by professionals
While I wouldn’t mind seeing the Vok somewhere in this alternate take, I don’t want to see any scenes replicated from the show. Bad enough shows and movies insist on using lines from TFTM to the point of eye rolling. I want new stories and new ideas.
Agreed. What I want is expansion. The cartoon provided fertile ground for ideas to take root, now I just want them to take the concepts already there and go on their own track with them.
I don't think it'd hurt to revisit elements of the original. The Vok taking Unicron's form initially is one thing. Even if we, as BW fans, know who the Vok are... playing it up a bit longer so the cast thinks it's something else would be interesting.
It's pretty shocking that for the big role the Vok played in TF lore in general not just in BW they hardly get explored at all. Hopefully the comic will change that.
I'm wondering if the Vok will show up as part of the Takara Selects comic. As the mystery dudes who took Lovehammer...
It's THIS week. I'm honestly super excited. Going to be doing curbside pickup from the local comic shop, since I want a physical copy of this. New Beast Wars stories... I need that in my hands, thank you.
