I just don't get why it's suddenly news when it was being discussed months ago.

Bumblebee wasn't more successful because of Bay's movies and the public finally having enough of that slopfest. And Bay's designs are just as "realistic" as the Bumblebee designs, or Alternators, or IDW, or anything. Until we get real Transformers, it's all just different takes. And the Bay designs, due to TLF's failings, didn't last (Besides as toys).

Because TFW decided to front page it randomly.

    I admire your optimism.

They're out there somewhere. *eye sparkle sound effect*

The biggest problem with Bays Formers was they just had to many moving parts. They were cool to a point, but you couldn't see the faces for piss and and the contrast was terrible on most of the bots.

I actually don't disagree. I think that's why some of the toys look better to a lot of people, because the features are more visible and there's less contrast and reflections on every single bit of detail.

That's exactly the reason I'm not a fan of many of the Bay movie designs as they appear in the movies, but think they usually look good or great as toys. When made into toy form, they necessarily have to simplify and consolidate the large number of separate parts w/ negative space into a somewhat smaller number of more solid parts, and it brings the broad strokes of the design out more and makes it a stronger design.

That's what I'd like to see. The story could always be changed to fit the new designs.

I can’t “No” this design hard enough. Sorry, I know some fans like it but I’m over the Bay esthetic, especially is this is going to be some Beast Machines bullshit.

Between this and Wonder Woman 1984 it has been a bad year for cheetah themed characters.

Looks like I'm going to have to stick to cartoons and comic books.

I know people have said that this is concept art, but I am *really* hoping that’s not the final design for Cheetor’s head. It feels even more of a departure than the design of Transtech Cheetor. I really dig the beast mode. While it would make more sense for the beast mode to have more of an organic look, I wouldn’t mind this if maybe they explain that they have some form of hologram projection that covers their bodies that makes them look like the actual animal they’re based on. While having the mechanical appearance when they need to fight (maybe their beast modes have weapons integrated?).

i thought i was able to be done saying this, but because people keep coming in and freaking out:
this concept art is at least 5 years old, probably for what they thought TF6 would be before TLK bombing changed plans massively
it has no relevance to the Beast Wars movie

The cheetah mode looks surprisingly nice but oh god that robot mode face. It doesn't even remotely look like other movieverse characters let alone Cheetor.

This doesn't even qualify as Bay aesthetic. While the Bay designs were overly messy and complex, love it or hate it, they were never generic. That's exactly what this is. It just feels like a budget KO of a Bayformer, like you see in those cheap car commercials and fan made stuff. Lucky for all of us, this art is very old and is no reflection of what an upcoming beast wars movie might look like

I'd say for the Designs, we look at how in Beast Wars, we have the protoforms, like with Airrazor. Before her design solidified, it was not unlike liquid, and even in the Live Action Continuity, the way they handle trans-scanning implies the living metal is less like our more rigid metallic alloys as we think, and they're more fluid. That fluidity could be why the metal on the faces is more like a humanoid face and can contort, meaning that while most of the body is solid, they maintain a level of fluidity to the face to allow for those stretching lips and metallic skin, with some designs being more rigid than others, like those who have purely faceplate faces.

It's just that that mentality doesn't seem to apply when it could. They just really wanted to flex the technobabble.

Umm its not bad. A little weird looking though.

Nah. If it was that, it'd have six legs, tentacles, big body holes, a bug face, four creepy eyes and cat ears. And it'd probably spray everywhere.

    Edited:
Nm, I didn't see the botmode. Gads that's ugly. Not bay ugly, but still ugly.
