I was into this set since day one, basically. I liked each and every carbot, and fortunately none of them had issues. Go figure how pumped I was for the trailer when it was released, I purposedly paid in full as soon as the price was revealed so to be among the first to receive it.
Then I saw Ben's video and I started to worry.
I have no room for such a huge combiner so my plan was to do what I do with Zeta Supoerion and others that don't fit the only space for exposing I have: rotate them on a shelf. When it's Superion's turn, it's pretty easy and somehow pleasant to transform the limbs, combine them, pose the giant robot and take a few pictures. Then, before dust makes its waty onto it, disassemble it and put it back in the box.
When I read the first comments here about the transformation being a nightmare, a pain, an unpleasant experiece, so that most of you wouldn't have EVER transformed it back, well, I was more than worried.
To me the transformation is an essential part of this hobby, and it has to be somehow simple and not stressful. Having to switch the transformers on the shelf means that I have to transform them often. This is way I'll never be a fanstoys guy, for the record.
Anyway, the posts I read did nothing to me compare to my reaction when I had in my hands: it's a desaster. Panels, panels everywhere, even just trying to fit the cars into it and then close it back was a terrible experience, stuff was untabbing all around.
I am scared to transform it: first, I could break something; second, it would be hard to go back to trailer mode, since I decided I am going to sell it: it's not for me. I have no joy in having a transformer I actually CAN'T transform.
It's not that it's bad or anything, it's just not for me. If someone will ever do a non-transforming Menasor body to tab X-Transbots' car on it, well, I would be in.

I think it's fine. What annoys me more is that the cab doesn't condense more in robot mode. Considering how little goes into combining him the robot mode could have been better.

Just carrying the trailer into the other room caused most of the back end to untab.

The trailer support stands collapse if you look at them wrong, causing it to fall on the very thin plastic of the under 'gates' (don't know what that part is called, I am not a trucker).

Not thrilled with this piece, the two years to complete it and the overall cost vs quality.

    XtB's ambitions overshot their capabilities.

and that has a lot to do with the fact that they wanted him to have similar design elements to MP-10.

It is funny that you say it's fine. The bloopers part at the tail end of your transformation video would suggest otherwise. Where Gravestone kept unfolding when you were attempting to slot him into the frame. :)

Those support stands are on a slider bar. I noticed that when I began transforming it. If you slide them over (even just the little bit that it allows) it does lock them so that they don't collapse when manipulating the trailer.

I made it through the transformation. My copy had nothing broken and/or stressed. It really just takes time. Now for the limb bots. What are the movable hooks behind the front hip skirts used for? Yeah I originally assumed that Gravestone's cab not compressing more was maybe to do with the combined mode but really it just slots in whole. I'll never understand the purpose of the top roof section that can rotate 360°, as it doesn't seem to serve a purpose in any mode:

Maybe a leftover from a previous iteration of the design?

So here are my attempts so far at fixing this guy until ShowZ gets my parts:

    - I glued the left leg wheel that attaches to Flipout. Ok for now.

    - Drilled out the broken screw from the left knee cap and added a thicker, stronger one. See how it goes.
    XTB_Monolith_Left_Knee.jpg IMG_20210122_155320.jpg

    - The right upper body doesn't sit flush and tends to lean to the right a bit causing the right shoulder to come un-tabbed. Figured out the piece that holds the right waist is warped which is causing the issue. Gonna try some hot water and such, but not confident about this one.
    IMG_20210122_170908_1.jpg

    - Using a clamp with a rag and a blow dryer to help close the gap on the right thigh. Will take pics if it works.

    What a shit show.

It's like you're doing pre-production fixes for XTB but you paid to do it, and there likely won't be a better version with everything fixed.

Is this mistranformed? The top of the torso is pitched forward at an angle, but I can't see a way to fix it.

God bless you guys who went the distance on Monolith.

I was an early adopter on this team, I honestly thought BBTS had an error on a $40 MP Breakdown analog. I went all in on the other 3 with legitimate excitement. I still love messing around with the 4 of then.

I was saving money for Gravestone, and then heard about the plastic stress issues at a critical point on that figure. Then I saw the trailer price, AFTER all the promises and delays (between then and now) i got indignant, borderline militant.

Now I hear how 1) he's "a great presence on the shelf" and 2) a nightmare to transform. This second point is very offputting.

I got lucky with all 4 of the limb bots; all smooth transformations and wonderful pieces with no QC issues.

I'll be perfectly honest, these latest comments and the pricetag and the broken promises/delays have put me off on anything Xtransbot or KFC ever put out going forward.

Which is a damn shame cause I used to always like their stuff.

I know I'm just "another voice", "another whiner", but as a consumer, the more of us that the company sees - and we know they read this forum - maybe there's a straw and a camel.

The only thing I can think is maybe try pushing in this button to see if it's not allowing the waist to fully collapse.

    monolith_button.PNG

While we're on the topic of mistransformation. The chest plate is clearly designed to sit low enough to where it is held in place by the two tabs, but if you look at my above picture it is sitting a good bit above them which prevents it from locking into place. Any ideas? I've tried pushing the double swivel hinge down, but as soon as I release pressure it rises back up.

I'm still waiting on my copy. No shipping notice from baba yet. :(  I can only assume the accessory pack is still on order for'em?

That being said, Can anyone confirm what kind of ankle this has? The limited close ups I've seen make me think you can take out the pin or screw at the tilt , swap the shins in a way to put the cars on the front.

I am having a look at how the hip ratchets are structured to see if I should open it up.

at the same time I have to be careful not to fk things up if I decide to look
