    I'll chime in :)

I have Meteoplex, Fort Max, Omega, and Armor-up Prime. The only bust I have is the one that came with deluxe ver. Prime.

Metroplex: The one that started it all. I totally dig him, even though he's a bit smaller than the rest. All the light ups work great and joints are nice and stiff. Holds together quite nicely. The city mode is ok, he really shines in bot mode.

Fort Max: Big blue is a great companion piece to the Great White Pillar of Metroplex. Has interesting third mode though I kinda prefer standard city as the third "flying" mode is kinda iffy. Bot mode is beautiful with lots of weapons. Excellent work on cerebros being an SD headmaster with a mini SD of its own. So frickin' cool.

Deluxe powermaster optimus god armor ginrai prime beta-x the return: ok, so he's still in the box. It's kind of intimidating to have all those extra armor pieces all over the place so I took one look at him and put him away for later when I have more time. But from all the reviews I've seen I'm really excited to take a stab at it. It might take me 3 hours to transform him in all the permutations but I'll get there  .

Omega Supreme Bean: love it. Absolutely love it. Superb articulation for the chunkiness. Has ability to split into all his components easilly but locks together in place quite well. Option of classic cannon and claw hands OR the five-digit fists! Plus his cannon/claw and wing bits turn into a friggin' hammer o'doom! I kinda regret not getting the bust for all the extra wing bits but it looks fine as is and the plastic hoses have been reported to deteriorate.

In summation: if you can get only one, Omega is my recommendation. Great balance of cost/fun/shelf presence/posability.

Oooooh! I can't wait wait to see reciews on Devs, I'm downright giddy!

Thanks, that's a good point. I actually don't think I'm going to opt for any busts, as it's nearly impossible to find them for Scorponok and Fort Max anyway, and I think I prefer the SD heads honestly. I don't think the limited poseability in T-Rex mode would actually matter too much to me, and I agree he does look incredible.

Thanks for your input too! I think the only one that I'm waffling on really is Scorponok now, and by association Fort Max (even though everyone seems to like Fort Max, I feel like he would look odd without a rival).
I agree that this Devastator looks fantastic, just put down a preorder at ShowZ!

i have MFT Huge Dragon so I have reservations about buying MM Omega. However I'm thinking it would stand better next to this Devastator. I also already have a set of Constructicons for my legends collection so maybe i could double dip on an Omega.

LOL this is a black hole of a hobby sometimes.

Ouch... $150 min and $40 for the bust. Is he really a $200 figure?

For a six team combiner + the bust, yes it makes sense based on how much MasterMade usually charges for their figures. If you break it down, it’s $25 per figure plus all the accessories for the base edition, and then you get the bust and whatever accessories may be specific to that. Tho, I think Devy’s listings have all had the bust included...

Unless, of course, you’re referring to Omega Supreme. In that case, maybe? Yeah, that sounds like a bit much, but MasterMade’s output doesn’t come cheap and it is well worth it.

I think that depends on your perspective. To me, no, he's not a $200 figure - he's a $150 figure with a $40 bust. A bust that I don't care about. And even if you DO care about the bust - well, you're getting the bust. So... he's a $200 figure-and-bust.

yep, hence why i haven't picked up Apollo either. :(

and yeah, if i get Apollo, i would want the alt head but not for an additional $40 and could cared less for the bust portion. :p

Unfortunately, when using the smaller Bust head, I think you lose the Tank for altmode which is another downside.

I got metroplex, omega, Trypticon, Fort Max, PMOP, and Overlord's still in his box.

Omega Supreme was my first and is still a total champ. I still dream of getting him in Spreem colors and these things are not cheap. Didn't get the bust, probably nice but never felt a need. The head tank would slide into my play style, but it's been gone forever. Oh well.

Trypticon is pretty great he does the same head behind everything move Plex does but it doesn't annoy me as much (spoilers). He was pre bust, but I like the size of head with the body. If you didn't know the series was supposed to be big headed you'd just assume the design is skewing little more T-rex and less Godzilla.

Then came Metroplex. Not bad, but clearly the first along. His city mode does little for me and wasn't thrilled with how they dealt with the head. Maybe the blockier shape and color made it harder to ignore. Got the bust to mitigate that and like I said, you can tell he wasn't designed for it. I like him in robot mode over the others.

Fort Max. Now this is the good stuff. Had to do something with the head now. Sadly the Cerebros part just chills on the side when transformed either alt. His base is more of a main cannon, so I liked it, and but I love the dedicated ship mode. Huge improvement over "he's lying down". Got the bust for actual extended play as a backup noggin when Cerebros is out and about. And the little head can totally fit in the base like a command module, fun bonus. Lot of bang for your buck here.

Prime is a touch lesser to me, but still satisfying. The alt is a weird block of a thing (like the truck's wearing a tank) but it works in an over the top kinda way. Got the deluxe so I have the bust. It's a little weird the truck cab and head are both separately exchangeable, but it allows full transformation so, again, backups.

Haven't touched Overlord yet (and won't for a while, he's trapped at work), but I can say his design got me to want an Overlord. He pioneered the fully clean transformation I like in PMOP. There's less added play in his bust, but it's designed to store the big head, which is also a first that won me over.

What exactly do you mean? Purchasing/owning the smaller head/bust kit doesn't do anything to the original head/tank. I have the whole set and can confirm that the smaller head/bust kit does not limit any aspect of the main figure. The smaller head simply replaces the bigger head, which you still have to use for any reason (it still turns into a tank).

Yes -It still functions independently as a Tank, but Omega (with the smaller head) no longer has an internal tank mode. If you put the larger head in a drawer, and only display/play with Omega with the small head, there is no tank without going back into the drawer. The bust head has no transformation into a smaller tank.

Correct? (Id love to be wrong)

Correct, the smaller head does not transform at all.

Question for you (or anyone else who has these bots). I'm narrowing down my search to Trypticon, Omega Supreme, Metroplex, and Devastator for sure. I have lots of nostalgia for all these characters since I grew up with them from the G1 cartoons.

I still am really tempted by Overlord, even though I never watched Masterforce... maybe it's the IDW comics but I just like his presence! I'm still not sold yet on the other 3 (Scorponok, Fort Max or PMOP). A part of me feels like I should get PMOP out of obligation due to him being Overlord's rival in the cartoon, but after watching some reviews I'm just not feeling this figure. Not sure why, I guess I never grew up with a powermaster Prime (or God Ginrai) and have no attachment to the character. Scorponok I'm probably passing on as well both for lack of nostalgia and apparent hip and stress issues people have reported. I'm kinda interested in Fort Max though because he and Overlord were kinda "rivals" of sorts in the comics.

So I'm just wondering which of the two that you have (PMOP or Fort Max) you'd prefer. I know you haven't played around with PMOP much yet, but once you do I'd love your opinion!

Also do you find the busts worthwhile? None of the accessories really interest me for any of the busts (except maybe Metroplex) and $50 for just a head replacement is a hard pill to swallow. Plus the SD heads seem to have more personality to me :)

Last question for anyone: are the boxes good quality? Are they worth keeping around or just something to throw out once you receive the figure? Thanks!

I keep my boxes just because I’m renting, but...

Yes, my Trypticon box is probably the nicest box I have. There’s a nice plastic window displaying Tryps as well as a velcroed flap that can then reveal some of his cannons and missiles and the like. And the art and designs around the box are pretty great, too. I also haven’t been displaying him with anything but his two most basic cannons, so it’s definitely getting use as an ideal storage space for those accoutrements, too.

I shall try to answer as best I can.

    1) I actually have NO personal attachment to any of the characters released by MM thus far, as I never really absorbed any of the source material. To me they are all blank slates so I focus more on functionality and design.

    2) That said, I don't care at all about Overlord because the whole idea of torso bot and sentient pants just irks me. It works better for Omega because he's a whole platform, but a tank is never gonna catch up to a jet IRL. "Hey arch rival, you mind if we postpone our fight to the death until after lunch? My legs are stuck in traffic because some Dinosaur got tired and turned into a city in the middle of a busy intersection." Yeah not for me.

    3) I do like power ups and armor bits...when I know where they go. I'm sure it's just gonna take a bit of fiddlin' but I'm confident it will be well enjoyed.

    4) I'm with you. SD head for the win! The busts seem like an unnecessary way of selling extra bits that should have come with the main body in the first place but w/e I'm totally apathetic toward it.

    5) If you collect the boxes these are really nice. I had to make extra room at home so I wound up pitching most of my boxes. However, I did cut out the nicer parts of the Omega box and kept that.

Thank you for the quick reply! Haha I get your reservations on Overlord, though I still can’t explain why it seems so fun to me.

How about Fort Max? How does he stack up in your eyes?
