I still love the art but the writing's reminding me of my previous attempts to get into ongoing comics. Hopefully it'll pick up as it goes along.
Interesting; it\'s been a while, but I don\'t recall Terrorcon being specifically sadistic. Given my only recollection of him was \"this era\'s Starscream\", I like it. Especially with obvious friction between him and Dinobot.
So.... I really hope when they get to earth, we continue to see what’s going on on Cybertron. That’s something I always felt was missing in the original series. I understand why because of budget, but this is a new ball game.
I don’t read the comics all that often. I’m usually late. I only purchase things when the have the humble bundle deals. But I might need to pick these guys up.
It's actually a reference to Gnashteeth, a minicon that transformed into a purple Tyrannosaurus. Beast Wars Uprising loved making obscure and bizarre references.
So like ... no one notices the vaguely Optimus Primal looking guy watching the theft from the shadows? With the noticeable red exclamation point above his head?
Whoever is this artist? It\'s like the worst of Ramondelli but in TF Animated style. And I guess they are remaking the whole Botcon story again here? So Megatron was called... Galavar before? I assumed he was already called Megatron by the time he left.
I think it was just supposed to be another generic using the CW Streetwise design if I'm being perfectly honest. Going by the continuity of the cartoon for this first issue (which, given that the goal is to start off with it and then veer off in their own direction upon the arrival to Prehistoric Earth, I think is apt to go by) Primal and Co. were just in the closest, fastest vehicle that was functionally commandeered by the Maximal High Council to intercept the Darksyde before it could escape with the Golden Disk. So I'm assuming that the first issue will be split evenly in half: the first half involves The Artist Formerly Known As Galavar and his crew stealing the Golden Disk (and their ride,) the second half will introduce us to Primal and the Axalon crew who are then ordered to stop Megatron before he can escape and screw up the timestream.

But munky makes so much more sense than trukk. Let me get this straight... transformers existed for millions of years and the finally come to earth (whether it be millions of years ago, awakened by volcano, or just by coming here now)... you realize they have about like... 100 years where they make any goddamn sense? Like, imagine they came instead 200 years ago. What, are they going to transform into buggies? And they have to wait for a horse to come along before they can actually move, otherwise they lose their disguise? And then what if the horse didn't want to go where Optimus Prime went? Transformers are so limited. In order to be of any useful disguise (not require a horse, or tracks, etc) they have to have arrived after a certain time. Any time before that they have no disguise. Beast wars, on the other hand, just need there to be some sort of life. And if there isn't any life, they don't need a disguise. De facto, better.
The thing about "Gnashteeth" is if it was intended to reference his croc form...that still doesn't really make sense. Since the whole point is they took on new names when they arrived on Earth and he wasn't a trex or croc before that.
Under-3 isn't even his real name. Like I get it, using named characters as "disposables" is always aggravating and short-sighted to me, but it's Under-3. He doesn't count.
You know Gnashteeth wouldn't be a bad name for a possible repurposing of the Croc Megatron design for a new character like how Nyx used Bat Optimus for the basis of her design.
What would Under-3 even do? Like, he folds in half to become a lion head. Would the other Maximals just carry him around and chuck him at things so he can gnaw at them?
He's the only known reverse Headmaster partner. He forms the head of someone else's beast mode, but isn't needed for robot mode.
