Well that's the stuff of nightmares. I don't know what the concept of the movie would be if the characters looked like that, but it sure wouldn't be Beast Wars.

Glad to hear this is old Bayverse art and not intended for the actual Beast Wars film, despite the headline. Hope they go in a completely different direction if the film ever gets made.

Concept or not, I have a feeling they want more of the Bayformer design flow by seeing this image. Bumble Bee's movie had waaay better reception to their bot designs. I don't want Bayverse style back and this points at it going in that possible direction.

Absolutely horrible. They\'ll make this series as godawful as the bay series.

I\'ve always hated bay movie transformer looks. Too many tiny plates laying all over the place to make the bots. Just make them look like the cartoons with some added lines where plates are. Maybe throw in some tint detail nuts and bolts at th said lines. Maybe some differentiation of shiny and dull metals.

This look of making them look like a magnet was taken to a scrsp heap and pulled a bunch of tiny pieces together to make a bit looks horrible. All these movie original designs suck so bad. I\'ve never bought a movie figure. Not one. All because of their horrible looks. Now they\'re gonna do it to the beast wars.

Give the cartoon designs a LITTLE pizzazz. Just a LITTLE. These designs are changing and making stuff just for the sake of changing and making it. It serves no purpose, craps on the original characters, and sucks.

this concept art is from sometime between like 2016 and possibly as far back as 2011, the Beast Wars movie isn't in even in preproduction yet, this has nothing to do with the Beast Wars movie actually being made

And yours isn't? maybe read the article in which no where in it was it clear that these aren't actual concepts moving forward. read the literal first half of this discussion board where everyone thought that this was official and coming and then come back to this guy with no intentions of saying that we can't criticize it when in this thread he also criticized it, then look at you who literally said "Then he should've left me alone." one of the most braindead and childish things I have ever heard come out of anyone's mouth or writing ever. I will defend a picture being spammed if it clears up MISINFORMATION the thing literally everyone has been trying to tell you about and the thing still rampant in the thread I see no problem with it. clearly you are here for the hate and toxicity surrounding this concept and don't want people to realize that it isn't going to appear.

I've seen G1 fanatics, beast fanatics, movie fanatics, Prime fanatics, heck even UT fanatics.

But the search for RID2001 fanatics continues on.

Honestly the Cheetah mode reminds me of Transmetal Cheetor. It's... Okay. Not that offensive to me and I don't mind more technical cheetah designs (I think if Cyberverse wasn't more towards the children-side of designs, the Cheetor design would have been familiar but refreshing, honestly what I want designs to be, even if they may be somewhat of a departure for their debut designs). It feels like a better Beast Machines design, if anything.

That Robot head though was proof Primus has died a long time ago. Even as someone who was okay with some of the Live Action Head designs, looking at it only makes me grow more and more uncomfortable.

Lmao, why do you keep replying? It's pathological with you.

Yes - there were a few people at the beginning of the thread who were a bit overzealous re:bay -verse - but the constant spamming of an image doesn't improve a thread. I pointed that out and now you want some sort of massive discussion about it... lol...

Replying to every post that criticizes this design or the bay-verse in general with the same image is lame and childish.

Dunno why you have to be so defensive over calling out a spammer. It's wild! Haha!!

I always figured Sky-Byte fans fell under this category. Then again, I wouldn't know.

To be fair to rob_base_dude, from all those years ago, if he was commissioned or confined to present something that read: "Robot face with horns, also mechanical cheetah" and no other queues besides "something dissimilar to any existing character" and then "do it in Maya," honestly I don't think I could have done any better. If Bay had his peyote-fueled vision-quest way, everything would look like a mechanical tumbleweed as seen from the POV of a fishbowl.

Now, fast forward to today, we have the luxury of hindsight and the BB movie designs to collectively agree that "less is more" truly behoves cross-generational aesthetics of anthropomorphic alien robots.

Ever since I was a kid in the 80's I never understood how TF's could have metal skin for lips. Metal doesn't really stretch well, so practically this design is more accurate. But then if Terminator could give us a robot with human teeth and it was unnervingly realistic, maybe alien robots might work on the big screen with stretchy aluminum foil skin and hide all the microchippy bits under ridiculously Roman Centurion headgear. Robocop anyone?

So we can breathe a sigh of relief that this concept art is better suited for a SyFy direct to Netflix reboot of the Island of Dr. Moreau and will never see the light of day. That's what concept art is for.

Sometime next year we'll get to see what a more streamlined approach would look like. Honestly the Beast Machine faces grew on me after a bit, certainly more nuanced and emotive than their TM versions. I guess we'll see what more sensible minds than Bay2009 can come up with.

For your viewing displeasure, more rejected concept art:

    My take on this thread:
    This is ugly.
    It’s concept are.
    Ok, but it’s still ugly.
It’s an unused concept for TLK.
    Alright, but it’s ugly.
You’re not paying attention: it was never used.
    Look at it: it’s hideous.
It has no bearing or relevance to any project.
    W/E. It’s still ugly.
    You’re trolling.

    YouTube (Legacy):
Why is there a law that adaptations from video games, anime, and toys have to be completely off the mark?

We started with Goombas that had huge bodies and tiny lizard heads and went downhill from there.

Cheetor already has a least 4 established bodies. Pick one of them.

My take on this is that the artist didn't really want to do it, didn't have any good concept of how it would work, and just churned this out hoping it would be rejected.
