I wouldn't just call it simple; I'd call it stunningly bloody obvious.

Wow, not the end I'd wish for.
Still, I'm not stupid enough to go taunt a Tiger whilst anywhere near it.
I know that 1-on-1 almost any predatory animal in a Zoo would kick my ass.

I have respect for them, oh, and I don't actually go to Zoo's very often. Like 3 times in my entire life.

To the dumbasses who thought that the whole taunt tigers might be a good idea, I don't think they deserved to be killed, but they deserved to suffer an injury, fall of the fence and break a leg or something.

Sucks that the Tiger had to be destroyed, thats 1 less of the small number in the world. Even worse that it was a female.

flamepanther makes sense on this topic without being overly objective or emotional.

I can't believe there are people who don't think that the blame for this incident lies with the stupid troublemakers who precipitated it.

At the end of the day - if they weren't there, doing their thing, the tiger would not have scaled the wall to get them. And no-one would be talking about the zoo's safety levels, because they would still be accepted as adequate.

    Obvious.

Well by that token, the Tiger and her enclosure were safe for the public without the presence of obnoxious drunken jerkoffs, so they're still the "other hazard" in this case... :)

It wasn't safe. There was report once that a keeper saw one of the tigers jump and the paw landed on the edge of the cliff. It drop though due to it's weight. The zoo passed it off. http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local&id=5858765
There was another incident with the same tiger, which prompted the zoo to add safety features for feeding. I am kind of glad they killed THIS tiger.

Tiger wasn't safe either. It used it's claws to climb...

Elephants are roughly 18 ft tall. Remember that clip of a tiger jumping at elephant and reaching the people on top? Well lucky for us, the local zoo has 22 feet high wall...still worries me since I find the distance of moat small for me...

Plus, wild animals usually avoid humans, since they have a fear of us (usually). Captive animals lose that fear. So yeah...zoo bad cause irresponsibility. Tiger bad cause track record. Maul people bad cause idiots.

i dont get the "wall wasn't too high" theory. Last time i was in the Malaysian zoo the wall was 1m high. the only thing is that there is a 6 ft moat separating the tiger enclosure from the general public. No cat can generate enough jumping power to launch through 6ft of water. It makes for great pictures when the tigers decide to bathe as well :D

as for the ******s, i'm pretty sure they deserved it.

I'm sure the liger was bred for its skills in magic, and jumped that fence due to some kind of enchantment.

Holy Napoleon Dynamite! it IS a liger!

maybe it came from the The Witch the Cupboard and the Wardrobe Narnia movie/book?

if the tiger/liger that ate those kids looked like that, then it DESERVED to have been taunted.

(it is just me, or does the tiger appear to have crapped out that green pencil?)
