Why does it look like Cheetor opened the Puzzle Box and summoned Pinhead and got punished as per the norm with the Hellraiser series?

 

Robot head is ugly. 'Nuff said.

 

Fuckin' yikes. I actually like most of the Bayverse designs but this is complete garbage.

 

Someone let Michael Bay know that there was an entire other Transformers series he hadn't put out bad-looking movies that were barely related to the source material. He sprung immediately into action...

 

This was to be expected. I’ve never been a fan of the films - but Paramount has no reason to change their course as long as they keep making money.

Somewhere in another forum, I wrote my (tongue in cheek) pitch for what I suspect a live action BW movie will be. Given Paramount’s treatment of the G1 canon - I don’t expect BW to be realized on screen any differently.

Your mileage may vary.

Personally, even though I grew up with G1 and then BW - from a pure design standpoint I like to see Transformers look a little more blocky G1 or even IDW sleek. Organic beast transformers, (for me), are a design challenge because the toys are usually compromised in either bot or beast mode. When you’ve got a real, flesh and blood cheetah mode - it’s hard to hide those robot legs... but if you have a robot cheetah, then there’s wiggle room for kibble.

With that said, I’m not against robot beast-forms at all. Heck, I would love to see a robot version of BW Silverbolt some day in all his wolf-bird-knight glory.

But these movie-style designs... they’re not my cup of tea. Color me disappointed.

 

I can't believe this is what Cheetor is going to look like in the Beast Wars movie. What do you mean I should've read the news post?

OK, be for cereal, colours aside the beast mode looks pretty cool, but what is that head design? Not being a dead ringer for OG Cheetor is a given, but something about the helmet doesn't even feel very Bayformersy to me, and this is something I found annoying even when I had a more favourable view of the Bay movies, the mouth is almost indistinguishable from the rest of the face.

 

since the artist said "ages ago" i wouldn't be surprised if this was made before bumblebee, possibly around the same time of that optimal primal concept art.\

all i can say is that trust me that paramount knows how much people prefer bumblebee designs over bayverse

I’ll be honest. I don’t hate it. It’s not what I would do with Cheetor, but it would’ve been interesting to see a fully rendered CGI model of this.

 

BW feels the pain G1 based characters felt in the Bay films.  

 

Ugh, seriously. After doing such a great job reimagining the G1 characters in live action style for Bumblebee, can’t we just have that? I hope this remains as just concept art and nothing more.

I like it. As is (or was, I guess).
And I also liked Beast Wars-- heck, it was what got me into collecting.
So yes, people like me exist.
