its cause tlk takes everything the other movies did and put that shit into overdrive
-the editing and pacing was never great, but in tlk it is way worse than it was in the other ones with no actual set up shots, characters teleporting, conversations not lining up with the shots, everyhting going way too fucking fast, etc. at least it didnt take the previous movies to set up their main plot like an hour into the movie
-its another macguffing story, but this one is even shittier cause we barely even know what this fucking staff does or why it was never even mentioned before, all that happens for the most part is people saying that its the end times
-at least in the previous movies the transformers were part of the plot somewhat, here they are literally only there to put into the background
-at least the previous movies kinda had an okay timeline, this one just shits all over it for mostly no reason

its by far the worst one outta all of em, not cause it does smth the others didnt, but because it does everything they all did in worst way possible
i could prolly tell you at least one thing from each movie that i thought was done okay or pretty well, i cant do that shit for tlk, its all dogshit. its the only movie out of all of them where i cant understand why the hell anyone would like it

I have stockholm syndrome with this movie. Watched it at the cinema, sat in stunned silence as the credits rolled, then ran straight to the bar for a much needed pint.

Having rewatched it, I've grown to like it, despite it's many, many issues. But there are some things I liked in it, even from that first viewing. I liked Izzy and Isabella Moner's performance. She is actually my fav human in this film. I liked Quintessa, her design is cool and Gemma Chan does a wonderful performance. I actually wouldn't mind seeing this character in a series with Chan reprising the role. I saw a horse do a cartwheel, that was cool. I enjoyed Nitro Zeus and Mohawk. Barricade was back looking and sounding great. The score is fantastic as always.

True story, when the credits rolled in the cinema, people started applauding it. Me and my friends couldn't understand what they'd been smoking. It's certainly my least favourite of the franchise.

Also, it ends with earth completely screwed. The earth's core has cooled a little (no idea if it would heat up again) and there's a planet on our planet. Without quintessa to move it or space bridge pillars, aint no way they can get Cybertron off Earth. So all the gravity is gonna be screwed.

TLK basically take everything from the previous movies, throw it and burn it to the ground.
Every previous plot point, every previous movies, gone all poof.
You can name the film "Giant Robot Knight" and no one will bat an eye. The character feels very, very detached from the Transformers that you can change them as generic giant robot with no changes to the plot.

The plot itself is a frankenstein if a toddler made it instead of Victor Frankenstein. You want TF exist since ancient times, you want TF to have magical items, you want headmaster, you want suicide squad, etc etc etc.

Then the pacing. Submarine scene achieve nothing other than padding the mostly empty movie.

TLK is as much as Transformer in the same way, The Beast is a Transformers.

Paramount thought our standards were so low they could feed us a shithole of a film and make us all give a billion dollars for them. Not this time!

I love shitting on TLK's editing because it deserves every second of my scorn. What the fuck was Bay smoking when he came up with the brilliant idea of shooting in a different ratio every 10 seconds?

It is absolutely no-doubt no-ifs-no-buts the single worst of them. At it's worst Revenge of the Fallen did not manage to put a dent on how overwhelmingly bad The Last Knight is. Even the Cogman character honestly became cringe-worthy on a rewatch.

TLK is such a disappointment for a myriad of reasons, and I think even beyond the film itself, the early marketing really inspired a lot of false hope.

TLK's production was doing things no other Transformers movie had done - they were "revealing" characters Super Smash Bros. style, there was a huge focus on the Transformer characters themselves, and there was a lot made out of tying in with the previous films. It was awesome when they revealed the TLK Megatron design in all its glory, it was really exciting to see Hot Rod confirmed to be in the movie (even if his head was weird), and the early posters were very mysterious (Optimus, a pirate motif, a three headed dragon-beast). Later on, you even had these fun little trailers featuring extra bits of robot character (like Hound filming a green screen scene).

Then the movie comes along and is just a mess and doesn't fulfill any of the apparent promise of the pre-release hype. The Autobot cast and potentially interesting new human character Izzy just disappear from the movie after Act 1. The London scene takes up half the movie. The Decepticons amount to nothing, and the aspect ratio is a mind-boggling choice, even for Bay. And then it completely botches the Unicron reveal, which was the only conceivable thing to lead into TF6, which now won't happen. Fun!

I was ready for this to suck, so I snuck a can of Jack Daniels into the cinema with me. Anthony Hopkins' first line about magic actually being alien robots or whatever had me ready for a schlock shitshow.

The alcohol made the first half tolerable, but I got distinctly bored once I sobered up. Awful film but at the very least, the whole thing wasn't a splitting headache like AOE was.

I followed this movie way up to when it was first announced, I was excited to hear that the writers wrote the first iron man film, which is great, and when it came out..i loved it like any other film..then i kept watching, then over time I thought..this was not good...this movie sucks, and honestly this movie in general soured my love for the previous bay films, and I'm glad they're done.

In short, Transformers the Last Knight is a bad movie, and a dog shit one at that.

You wanna know the surprising thing? Most of the first Iron Man's dialogue was actually improvised by the actors, so the writers couldn't even claim credit outside of a technicality.

Probably not a good sign in hindsight.

TLK to me, wasn't perfect. But I did like it nonetheless. Considering I like Fate (The anime). I was onboard for the lore and mythologies was put in into it. Mainly the dark ages. History alone has always fascinated me. Learning about what lore they had in-store was definitely a good one. Although I think some transformers alike of Hotrod had a modern alt form, due to budget. But aside of that, I see this film as more lore story-driven, Comparing of action basis. A prime example would be DOTM. That film was purely action-basis but held some storytelling. Awhile I do believe DOTM did great in its own right. To me, TLK, did a great job explaining how long the transformers been here, alongside was told in revenge of the fallen. Obviously I wasn't keen to the whole aspect of Megatron just all suddenly existing. But as the film goes on, It's implied of how he became Megatron again. And Nemesis Prime. The hype was fine and well done. But the execution was poor. I'd definitely prefer Bumblebee being killed off, Even though they made him unkillable. In the end, all Hollywood films aren't perfect. There will always be flaws. So I do acknowledge TLK wasn't perfect for some. But it definitely appeals to me, As I said of earlier. The lore and mythology aspect. So my answer, I did like it, And still do.

The Last Knight was one of the only times I have ever encountered a movie that had a really obvious technical problem. The aspect ratio changes. What...the heck was up with the aspect ratio changes? It was seriously something that really took me out of the film. Oh, and let's not forget how pretty much all the cons died at the beginning of the film and how had so much cringe "humor".

Yeah, this will remain the only TF movie that I will never own. Just nothing redeemable about it.

At least ROTF had the forest battle scene.

As much as I hate Michael bay and his shitty films I do have to give him credit for making the bust version of hot rod there has been by reinventing him to make hot rod interesting instead of by all means making him inferior with his usual bland,useless,boring,bottom-of-the-barrel,tepid watery flavoured character that never changes

why does it still have its own board if were done with it, why is g1 still everywhere if its done, why is the cartoon board focused on every cartoon instead of cyberverse if all the other ones are done

    except it doesnt
tlk fucks over the timeline by adding in this history shit and doesnt explain why transformers were even here to begin with. it also adds nothing to the plot besides the dark ages shit. bee being in ww2 doesnt add anything except make the timeline worse

Ok, one thing I strongly disagree is the whole "it makes no sense for humans to hunt the Autobots since they're always saving the day" thing. Have y'all seen how we treat each other? We're always attacking one another, treating foreigners like shit and making them out to be the boogie men. We treat each other like shit, what makes you think we're gonna be nicer to the Autobots regardless of how many times they save the world? Honestly, it's the most realistic aspect of the films.

As for TLK, the pacing was awful, it went back to the mistakes that AOE tried to undo from the previous films even if it made all new ones, but worst of all it had no memorable action sequences. It was forgettable. It couldn't even get the strengths of the other films right.

Lol, would we care? Us humans already don't seem to care about each other, no matter what we do. As far as the humans are conserned, they're just big invaders who brought their war here.
You underestimate humanity's rage and ignorance.
