That cheetah mode would look cool as the inner robot under all the synthetic flesh and fur.

    I love this so much.

No, it is the franchise equivalent of the Bayverse design.

Cat mode is stunning, creative sci-fi. Robot mode is yet more fugly ShardMaster garbage.

Can we get out of the GEEWUNism that is the Movieverse's slavish addiction to the designs of 2007? By the time the next movie comes out in 2022, the basic aesthetic will be as old as the G2 Diaclone toys were for the original Movie, and we all knew at that time that the brand had to evolve and couldn't keep going back to its old look. Yet what do we always see? Time and time again the Transformers are depicted as featureless faceless lumps, basically impossible to tell apart or care about. And why? Tradition? Meeting expectations based on a decade of storytelling? A whole lot more people expected and wanted G1-style designs, yet we accepted that we had to do without. Now it's the animators' turn to grow up and try something new.

It's a cartoon. Make them look anthropomorphized and likeable. Star Wars and Star Trek and Avatar are full of lifelike alien designs that believably convey emotion and personality through their faces. Giving us yet another pile of torn-up tinfoil in this day and age is just misplaced nostalgia for Bay designs that were shitty back when we first got them. Same goes for continuing to act like Bumblebee can't talk, yet another throwback to 14 years ago.

Why does it look like this, why not just make a regular ass cheeta, I don\'t know that they understand what fans want from a Beast Wars movie. Like just give us a really well animated and written movie and get the og voice cast and you have a near perfect movie setup.

Absolutely dogshit. My fucking god. I don't understand why they keep hiring such mediocre tasteless DCEU tier designers.

It looks like they went out of their way to make a robot that turns into a cheetah design that looked as absolute shit and little as Cheetor as possible and slapped Cheetor's name on it.

So it was probably for the Bayverse, before it crashed and burned.

Cheetah looks cool, but the robot mode doesn’t even look good as a fan of a lot of the bayverse designs. It’s just ugly.....

Cool looking robo-cat. Weird ass 'bot mode. But neither one looks even remotely like Cheetor.

At least make the light parts gold and the darker parts blue ffs. I get it's never going to look like the original series, and it shouldn't have to, but it's like they keep ignoring on purpose all the design cues that make a character recognizable even when done in a different style.

Given how Habro's moved towards evergreen designs, I don't think we'll be seeing wild departures like this anytime soon.

Wtf is this? I know this atrocious ass looking thing isn't really bring considered? first of all that doesn't even look like a damn cheetah and don't even get me started on that hideous looking ass robot face. That shit look like some fake ass off brand toys you'd get from a dollar store. Like come on now, don't get me wrong I'm a big fan but I thought we were trying to get away from this crap...

What the hell this looks nothing like Beast wars. Imagine if Iron Man in his movie was a totally different color and looked nothing like iron man in the comics?? What is wrong with having the character actually be inspired by the source material!?? That doesn't even look like a transformer. Complete garbage.:puke2:

Also, people need to realize this isn’t for the beast wars film. They only reveal this stuff if it’s from a movie that never used it. Just like primal, this was just a design from the bayverse and most likely has nothing to do with what they’ll actually look like.

Before too many people shit themselves over this, we've seen these renders for a while now. I want to say as far back as early 2019 I remember seeing at least the robot face. This is not indicative of a potential new movie, and IIRC were originally conceptualized for TLK. (in the same vein as the Optimus Primal that makes its way around forums)

The front page critically leaves this out and makes it sound like this is recent concept art for a new movie. It's not, it's ancient TLK leftovers that just happened to be reposted.

Because on a technical level these designs show off a lot of great detail of anatomy and design competence. Artistically speaking they're very impressive, but are in no way finished or even close to usable as anything more than brainstorming. Remember, concept art is basically ideas put to paper/program. They conceptualize what they want. This was never meant to be a "this is what Cheetor would look like in live-action," it's meant to be more "hey this is one style we could do for the beast modes" and "hey here's an idea of what kind of head designs we can do." You can even see some of the textures and geometry are very slapdash because it's more or less a 3D sketch.

It's like that weird Bay/G1 Bee hybrid that was used way, way back before the BB movie even got underway production-wise as a literal "Bay Bee with VW parts and G1 elements" brainstorming render.
