It really is! Can't believe I almost passed on him. I own the Jada toys Delorean and this blows it out of the water. I didn't realize until I got Gigawatt just how bad the proportions are on the Jada. Hasbro really nailed the alt mode (with bonus hovermode to boot) and is almost a 1 to 1 comparison. Bot mode is tops too. For it to be such a Siege Sideswipe remold, Gigawatt wears it so much better.

Might be an employee who wanted to hook you up or didn't care.

 

If you are nice and kind great things happen to you. I was not aware of ectotron price. I had taken a pic of where I got him and the employee was nice enough to give me the price of where they had stocked him. I don't get too lucky too often but boy was my son ecstatic when he saw him. I would have had to load on him @$60.

 

I have not tried, but a large chunk of the torso potentially looks to separate from the gull wings and screen assembly with only a single screw.

As others have said, it's a pretty good tint, but lighting plays it's part.

 

Thanks for sharing pics and information. This is on par with some other SDCC/ Convention exclusives where you pay a premium with the packaging. Though in this case, the packaging is not that much fancier than the mass release versions. It is a matter of taste whether you like one package over the other. Personally I like the mass release one better because it is much cleaner and closer to the G1 Aesthetic.

 

That tint is weak af. Tips to darken it further?

 

Saw this response after posting my question regarding further tinting. It is completely subjective. Some collectors may consider this tinting unacceptable. I certainly do. That molding should never enter a collector's iris.

 

The way Gigawatt is made, the only way you're not seeing the molding at all is if the windshield is completely blacked out.

 

Agreed, it would need a sticker, either inside or out.

The degree of appropriateness of the current tint is personal preference, but for me, it's fine, so I won't be applying anything further.

Forgive the classic radiator-top shot, but much of the time, because of the lighting, it's not really that visible. Anyone with a lit display case may be disappointed.

 

Scooped up one of these off Walmart for $30. Planning to do some heavy customizing over the next few months to make it look less toyish and more screen accurate. Really hope my box isn’t damaged though I’d love to use it for display purposes.

Is it safe with GameStop or do they pull any kind of random cancelling of orders? I'd like to cancel my Hasbro Pulse pre-order now that I have a better price but not if GameStop might pull a fast one on me.

I just realised I want a BTTF3 Gigawatt. Give him a new chest and wheels (and hopefully a new headsculpt, Ectotron-style). Thrown in a Wild West-style shotgun and a hoverboard (he even has appropriate holes under his feet), and I'd buy this guy all over again.
