Well Takara MPs break at the small panels. Armada MPs would require fewer of those since there were fewer fucky proportions in that cartoon between alt and robot mode

 

from what we know the the toyline after kingdom will have ut so it's fair to assume this armada prime will be a one off thing because it couldn't fit a budget within the main line, one way or another we'll get chug versions of armada prime or megatron.

every armada prime (core bot) more or less follows the same transformation, if they did make an mp my guess is that the largest difference between fanshobby's is that they'd attempt to give them a proper trailer hitch and have the back not look like just a pair of legs. most of the cost would go to the paint and trailer the latter im guessing will feather a transformation similar to mp-44's legs allowing a cleaner look to fans hobby

 

Half of MP-44's leg transformation is stuffing half the cab into them, and even in truck mode they aren't exactly clean.

The only thing that's not clean Naval Commanders truck mode is are the feet on top, which isn't exactly a deal breaker since it's not that far off from the toon besides colour and G1 Optimus always has his feet showing.

 

im saying that armada optimus does what most prime toys do where the back is just the legs tabbed together and feet folded in someway, im saying that i think if takara made an mp they'd try to give him a realistic truck bed with stuff like a trailer hitch and rear lights. also my point about mp-44's leg transformation was saying that the trailer bits could fold within the combined modes leg since the the combined mode in the show only had a back skirt or coattail or whatever while fans hobby for example has side skirts

 

They wouldn't because he didn't really have that in the cartoon. They go for cartoon accuracy more than anything, and his cartoon model was more or less his toy

 

for robot mode yes but for example with mp-44 again, i believe takara explicitly stated they wanted a figure with a cartoon accurate robot but wanted a realistic truck mode

now i know that it isn't always the case like with bb 2.0

 

If TT did Armada I doubt that would be the case since they had the design aesthetic of toys first real-world vehicles second. Considering people like myself will want the alt modes to be mostly cartoon accurate and said alt modes looking like these.

I've watched very little of the Armada cartoon but I've been looking at this guy lately and he's super tempting. Might throw in for a pre-order this weekend when I get paid. It's tempting to see what happens with the official HasTak version we saw a while back, but that was what, nearly two years ago now? And next to nothing about it since

 

Studio Series Bumblebee Optimus Prime does exactly that, and the vehicle mode sucks despite being realistic.

Considering that part of the truck needs to become imposing, solid arms for the Super Mode, the design is always going to be shifted towards the original toy appearance.

 

does it suck? i dont own it but i the only problem i've heard about bb prime's alt mode was the front grill. also i should clarify this if it's what confusing people, im not saying they need to give him a hollow truck bed but rather just have truck bed details, perhaps the coattail of the core bot could have a flip out panel that gives the vehicle trailer hitch sculpted on it and the rear lights could hidden in the legs or feet, i think they'd still have enough room for combined hand

 

wait when did we get information about UT stuff after Kingdom did I miss something?

 

rn the only info is from leakers but supposedly the line after kingdom will be like t30 where they have a mix up of various series mostly consisting of g1,bw,and ut. currently we dont have any info on specific characters. also they're going to stop making titans and have 2 commanders per line instead

 

to be fair in the show he was never that big, he was always commander size, slightly taller than optimus when in super mode

i know and thats why for the longest time i assumed to be titan, tbf i'd prefer a titan but i think hasbro will stay true to the show in that aspect, also i think people might be dissapointed with the appearance because i think most people prefer his game/toy deco

 

but the game was better than the show
