Yeah, it completely killed my enthusiasm for those figures. If there's a common, known fault to a figure, no matter how much I want it, it just looks like throwing away money to me. Like MP Hound. I had actually pre-ordered the Lancer one and was excited to get it in hand, only to find a stress mark fresh out of the package and was given no guarantee of reimbursement for returning the item to Amazon JP. I ended up selling it to someone who said they didn't care about the stress mark. /shrug. It has definitely made me think hard about doing any preorders from overseas sellers.
I haven't been charged yet by Amazon Japan, but then again I didn't pre-order it from them until recently. Time to just sit back and let them come to me.
Bummer I just checked mine and it has a stress mark on one side out of the box. Hopefully it doesn't break.
You guys must be talking about these joints/hinges. They cracked sometime ago(about a year) on my copy of Stick. Last time I checked the other two are fine but they have never been transformed. They were only opened to check the joints. Stick was transformed to ride armor mode once and sat that way in the cabinet. Sucks for a $200 piece or any collectible for that matter.
Well Rook Legioss shipped for me tonight (x2 - extra for a friend who is now on the fence). After tax, just shy of $250. If anyone needs one, let me know, my friend would probably be relieved to not have to pay for it.
Yeah, that's the part that AnyMoon identifies in his blog post about the line. Man, that does suck that both of yours cracked. My Lancer is just a stress white mark right now. I'm partially tempted to pack it back up and sell it to someone at a discount since it is stressed and I don't want to break it. Then see if the Houquet version is different. If anything I wanted Houquet more than Lancer and bought Lancer because I figured she would never be made. I should know better. Anybody interested in a Lancer? =) I would have if I didn't have a pre-order in for one myself.
