Ok, let me rephrase, Gears isn't coming in Kingdom and there have been no leaks or rumors to indicate his presence in the line through 2022. His appearance in the pitch artwork was prior to design work being started on Kingdom figures. One should not make the assumption that he is coming "soon". Better?

 

Yeah, Gears isn't coming anytime soon. I do expect him within the next 5 years as he is the only Ark member without a Prime Wars or WFC update. I'd love to see Brawn and Windcharger again with the Cliffjumper standard, but Gears is the highest priority.

 

For Windcharger, I went with the RTS scout, not quite up to the Cliffjumper standard, but pretty close.

 

Yeah, I'm probably gonna grab him as my POTP one has just degenerated to shit in the joints. Brawn I have the KO TR one and it's fine, he fits in and that's that. Would I like a better one? Absolutely, but I'll take what I can get.

 

I never liked the POTP mold personally and I'm a bit disappointed that the RTS one was never retooled as Tailgate

 

Yeah, the QC on the POTP one was just a mess. Outside of needing a Gears, and wanting a new Windcharger and Brawn, I'm pretty much all set with G1 for life which makes me super happy so I can focus on some other lines.

 

Yea, there's a few here and there that could use better figures, but I'm more or less good on G1 (season 1-4) after this year unless something comes out that is a massive improvement

 

Yeah, that's why I'm super glad WFC was G1's swan song so we can spend the next 10-15 years updating the other TF properties.

 

Yea, I'm thrilled about having Beast Wars on shelves again, though I expect G1 to maintain some sort of presence in subsequent lines

 

Yeah, G1 will definalty still hang around with random fillers, homages, random nobodies, and exclusives, but it's defiantly gonna take the back seat for the next decade.

I have some gripes, but overall this is a magnificent figure. The Rex mode in particular is just 10/10 and has me hyped up for the JP crossover, it absolutely nails the "When Dinosaurs Rules the Earth" pose. I've taken to folding his tail flaps in such a way that envokes the original toy/MP, also because the rubber panels won't let me get them back into the "proper" folded position lmfao

 

What fire effects did you use?

 

Bandai Tamashii Effects. Technically these are KO's I bought off Sirtoys cuz officials are a little pricey for my tastes.

Huffer looks great, but I'm waiting for the Pipes version of the mold because I prefer Pipes' headsculpt, colours, and depiction in media. For a guy with a truck cab slung off his back, he's very clean and kibble-free in both modes. Only thing that springs to mind is his exposed fists in vehicle mode, but at least they're kind of forming a roof instead of just hanging there.

Am I right in thinking there was a package refresh of ER Starscream in wave 4 and that Galvatron was a Wave 3 Leader? I'd be quite pleased to see Megatron and Galvatron together in the same wave. Intense xmas '86 vibes.

 

Correct, Galvatron is in wave 3 and a PR of ER Starscream is in wave 4.
