Really, so the ab area really is just a piece of black plastic? That's kind of disappointing. I saw it gave off a slight metallic look in one of the videos.

 

Apologies if I'm asking something that has probably been answered (went thru 5 previous pages) but how does this guy compare to the zeta movie bb?

Bigger? Smaller? Better (why) or worse?

I have zeta and think it's great. Have him next to wj bb movie Optimus and he's probably a bit big but a solid figure.

Why is this trans craft one better?

 

You don't have to. The headlight and other parts are there as where they intended to. The only parts that pops off during transformation are those panels that on ball joint if you didn't give sufficient space.

Not that bad to be honest. It won't give you any plastic feel. It's more like gun metal matte kind of feel but definitely it's way above cheap plastic feel

 

zeta is WAY too big. Transcraft is shorter than DLX
Zeta tolerance is too much it make the transformation not enjoyable , the process is a chore and once turn into 1 mode , never once I think of turned back aside from when I sell it.
Zeta looks nothing like the source material. Lanky, long limg , weird face. The LED inside eyes are too close together ,when light up make illusion of crossed eyes.
The LEDs are not good at all. Battery insert is pain. Turning on and off is pain. The whole procedure of inserting those electric sticker is pain.
Gorgeous weathering , way better than Transcraft though. Hefty too. But that's it.
Transcraft I don't have it yet but the transformation make use of every space possible and use almost every trick known in TF engineering to pull off both mode as great as possible.
The only thing I absolutely hate is that tiny hole on one of its feet. It should not be there , at all. Like they just give up and decide to sell the figure that way.

 

Once you get hold of the figure, you will find out that there's ain't any other place to put the pin. The foot is split into 2 half and since the pin is needed for transformation to slide the silver piece down, there's no other place to house the pin

This is really like the analogy of given a piece of clean whiteboard, we are focusing just a dot on the board rather than the other bigger area that we can utilise   

To each of their own. For me, I always believe that nothing is perfect. There's compromise to everything. If the compromise is minor and I can accept then proceed. Otherwise the benefit of us as a consumer is there's plenty option out there.

 

white board is used to write things on. A complete figure is another story. It is more accurate to compare with an artwork. A beautiful one , and then has a stain on it.
Or maybe you don't consider the hole a flaw , let's compare it with a big blue artwork and have 1 Orange dot on it. Depend on artist's intention , the shift of focus will be either disastrous or artistic.
That's why i am very , very torn with the figure.

 

Well, I’m going to put a Charlie figure right in front of that foot, or maybe pose him kneeling, or jumping, or put him far back enough on the shelf that I don’t see his toes...
It’s like when people obsess over the back of a figure when you rarely see it.
I’m going to do my best not to obsess over it because the next thing you know you’re spending nearly $100 on 3D printed, hand-painted “upgrade” parts to cover the flaws in your figure...

 

Save your breath. No need to convince the man to think otherwise. He is not saying you shouldn't buy it. In fact he is praising it, but holding back because he feels it takes away from it.

 

TC is smaller, Zeta is way bigger. I think people have said Zeta looks drawn or stretched? A little skinny? TC is just more accurate in overall looks. Zeta is 8.66" and TC is 6.69".

I have TC-02 on the way because there’s no guarantee of a clean version, but if that does happen I’ll most likely replace/sell the weathered one.

 

Ironically if a movie figure is going to have weathering, I'd prefer the alt mode to be cleaner and bot mode dirty, just like in the movies (although I prefer clean all over in general)

But for this figure it just seems a bit off, because in the movie his alt mode was supposed to be beat up and this seems to have minimal weathering there.

Still looks amazing and still looking forward to getting him but I'm curious what the thinking was there.

 

If I'm not wrong, Charlie cleans him in car form.

 

Charlie removes all the dust and sand but doesn’t remove the rust.

This has been a long wait. I skipped every BB movie Bee so far because I knew some company would nail this design.
I'm hoping TC next project is BB movie Prime.
