Right, because that's what our hobby is all about.

    Lol steady :D

It's a troll move by FT, they only have to promise a reissue and that will be enough to convince people into going with them over XTB, even if the product takes another 6 months to come out.

Shameless troll cash grab with the price hike...playing off the XTB price to tempt people as:

    1. FT is a known product (its been released already)
    2. FT has a stupid used market value (so it appears good value compared to buying it right now)
    3. FT matches or slightly undercuts XTB pricing (so it feels a good value proposition when browsing, particularly if you don't know what the original price was).

Epic troll game, well played FT

(ps if FT were to turn around 2 weeks before this new release hits and ask people for another 30% on top or split the accessories out into a separate purchase, THAT is XTB level shenanigans and what has pissed alot of buyers off)

Gotta love the everlasting FT double standard...

I'm just getting him on top of Virtus cause I wanted him for the longest time, haha. Thing is a beautiful display piece when you're not looking at his tires on his forearms or his large-ass wings on his legs :D . Virtus though will be my main Springer to both display and mess with.

    Anyhoo...

Yeah these grasshoppers are 'bout to kick your ass if we don't.

Seriously though, final bot pics are long overdue, XTB. Just get it over with, please.

Quietus is a no brainer on which is better. I actually prefer Koot over Locke in both modes but it's a toss up really. For Apache, I prefer his bot mode over Virtus but Virtus has the better alt modes hands down. Waiting to see the final color shots before I grab a Virtus.

I've sunk a stupid amount of time and money into it and been taken advantage of plenty. At this point it's just about 1) finishing my collection as efficiently as possible and 2) cold hard math. Sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities.

Yeah, I'm still conflicted over which Kup and Springer I want to use as my main, whereas I feel like Quietus is a contender for absolute best MP scale figure period and will never be replaceable as my Cyclonus.

Another flesh and blood human being is inevitably going to miss out on the reissue simply because you wanted to flip a figure you don't even like. You don't feel a single shred of empathy for that person, whoever they are?

I had Apache for a photoshoot a while back. The leg transformations and the shoulders were my least favorite things about the figure and held off getting my own copy.
I'm still in on Virtus even after the premium switch, but if it isn't any better or ends up being worse than FT's, I'll keep my Apache reissue preorder.

I hate both XTB and FT. Both are ridiculous and ruin this hobby with price hikes, bait and switch, and fanatics.

When it comes specifically to collecting G1 MP, those two companies are like 90% of this hobby at this point. Without them we'd just have Takara releasing one new figure a year, and maybe something from Transform Element even less often than that (assuming they actually continue with G1 MP and weren't just a flash in the pan).

No disrespect to you, because I agree with your overall point, but I don't find the attitude of flipping for profit to be surprising. This hobby is getting more expensive all the time, and these threads are increasingly being drowned out by hyperbolic people who seem to have contempt for other people who collect Transformers. If there's not a solid sense of community, it's kind of hard to imagine how empathy towards your fellow collector would influence an intent to purchase.

Not saying everyone is like that, but these MP threads are usually a far cry from the GI Joe or TMNT threads where users are looking out for each other and helping each other get exclusives and hard to find items without paying scalper prices. They're not competing with each other, which is what the MP game feels like a lot of the time.

If you're constantly being labeled as a blind fanboy/sucker/whatever and exposed to nonstop, petty sniping and bickering, I think that takes a toll on the sense of community and therefore empathy towards other collectors. At least, that's how I see it.

Not passing judgment on @Aaronstampler, btw, just offering my perspective on the overall picture.

Yeah you do raise a great point. The vitriol people have towards eachother, especially between all the different "factions" of fans who prefer different things, definitely feeds into the ruthless competitive environment our hobby has.

They know this fandom is a fickle bitch. It's not in final colours yet so they'll just get inundated with complaints because there's a significant amount of ppl, especially on Facebook, that fail at reading comprehension.

Pics will come soon enough and, you'll just have to trust me here, it'll be glorious. Fwiw I've just got Apache's box from the attic.

Give it a few days man. They'll be sold out and it'll shoot back up in price. FT figures always seem to creep back up after reissues.

It's just a shame they like fucking about with competitors instead of doing the fans a solid. Like reissuing the Dinobots again. Or releasing 3 year late Headmasters.

Why do that when you can panic re-issue because someone else might release something better and you wouldn't want all the attention on them

oh spare me. I’m not taking someone’s vaccine or medicine here. This hobby is the definition of “first world problems.” It’s disposable income for a generation of man-children in arrested development still upset that their favorite cartoon had the gall to kill off their heroes in a movie in the name of moving new product. Their actions were cynical then and Takara and all their 3P competitors are just as cynical now.

If somebody wanted Apache badly enough, they’d have gotten him by now or will in the future. Nobody was crying for me when I paid $600 for a FT 29-T and I’ll look like a dummy if and when they re-issue it for $225. I’m absolutely passionate about this hobby. To me it’s similar to art collecting. At the same time, I’m not blind to its trappings and the art world is similarly cutthroat. If I really wanted to be a bastard about it, I could’ve ordered 12 Apaches through various companies. I just ordered one to help cover the extra money XTB is charging for Virtus.

I don’t see issue with people buying an extra. If you actually want to point to people who are taking away chances of someone else owning one, point to people who buy 3-6 extras for absolutely no reason. Bitching about people who buy 1 extra does nothing.

Wow, $600 for Quietus-T, that's the highest I've heard. I paid that for Stomp and figured that was about as high as it gets for anyone. 29T will get a re-issue and they may re-issue Stomp but sometimes it's just worth it just to nail it down and cross it off the list.

Will you two quit it? You have to curse XTB or Keith in your posts otherwise you're breaking the rules!
