Here is a link to the FULL transformation video. There is a part that is broken from me being a hamfister whilst switching out the new parts.
I tinkered around a bit and found a joint design that would work for a downsized version of Whirl. I am shooting for 18-18.5 cm unless anyone has any better suggestions. I am also working on a different transformation for a deluxe scale version.
I have been slowly plugging along on getting this down to a better scale for existing figures. Whilst I wait for more good resin, I printed a test fit print in regular stuff of the improved torso. I added a waist crunch and lengthened the torso slightly. Now his pelvis will be able to be tipped forward or back to add more dynamic poses. forward and back... and to the side... Whirl being very cooperative... Essentially I am trying to keep the leg thickness and joints the same, while shortening it all, and shrinking the torso by .943. With a few areas thickened a bit, it still works and he ends up around 18 to 20 cm. Just for funsies
The large one was a multi-color print, it had the windshield separated for printing in color. I will try to leave it like that.
Hi! I was inspired to join this site after, funny enough, seeing a really amazing parts former of Whirl and wanting to see if a) he'd be willing to sell a copy or the original, or b) if not, if anyone knew a rough estimate on what a printing company might charge. That user, HightailStd, said that you made an even better version. I absolutely love your version of Whirl as well, especially considering he's actually transformable. I do not have the room for a 3D printer right now and won't for quite some time, and plus, it's a hobby that although I'd LOVE to get into, I don't think I'm quite ready just yet to dedicate the time even if I had the space. Would you be willing to consider selling this figure or a copy of him? If not, does anyone have a very rough estimate, if I were to download the file for this, on what a 3D printing service might charge?
I was already making my own Whirl, with kitbashing and I didn't want to abandon it, i have use your head model to put it on my custom, many many thanks for it
