lol no way, you’re still up by 4 as of this reply honestly though, all of those likes belong to you, i have no part in it, was just following someone’s request to show off your pics. i’m still looking at them wondering if you used a stand for some of them, it’s crazy.
I get what you’re saying, NeoMatter, but I’m with Onibaku for the most part. Try standing up and crossing one leg in front of the other with both your feet flat on the floor. Unless you’re sitting, which is totally different, or REALLY trying to fight it, your hips will rotate forward slightly to keep you balanced. The only difference in a real, organic, human being is that we don’t have visible ball joints and rotating parts, so it’s harder to tell how our bodies are contorting. Not trying to be a smart-ass or anything! She may not have perfect articulation, but she’s SUPER close and I can’t stop putting her in different poses, because you can get her to look so natural looking.
I just wanna start by saying that this to me looks better in hand than any photos I saw prior to release. Like seriously, her face is just fine to me. Looks really cute. I don't know, maybe its the lighting in my house or maybe how our brain (or just my brain) handles 2d and 3d. The huge backpack is always gonna be the elephant in the room but I look at it as a flaw in the original character design that hardlocked us fans to demand something so impossible to accomplish in real life. Sadly for some fans, this backpack may never be acceptable but I think the did a commendable job. The impression I get from having transformed this a bunch is that it finally has accepted its place as a shellformer and went full sprint in its direction of engineering. Like its just a series of folds upon folds and overlapping and I dig it. I'm sure that its possible to take the engineering further and provide a more compact end result but I do not think that it can be done without drastically affecting its stability. I used to believe that mmc azalea will always be my definitive Arcee but Takara blows it out of the water. Like look how wide Azalea's shoulders are. How did I never notice that? The articulation is so impressive. Shoulders are amazing, the elbows are engineered in such a way that it offer the most natural looking bend I've seen on any action figure. Not sure if the next elephant in the room has been discussed further but in regard to her "granny chest," but I compared the placement against azalea and even big firebird Nicee and have found that they all line up pretty much the same. And maybe its just my brain again, but in hand looks just fine. Well thats just my two cents.
So for instance her left leg, I can only get her leg to rotate so that her knee points in toward her right leg and vice versa... Legs only swivel inwards, not outwards.
I know exactly what you mean and Yes, mine is just like that. The rotation just above the knee wants to only rotate one way. My solution was to NOT fight it, just keep going in the direction it’s able or until you go all the way around and get to where you want it to be. Eventually, the joint will loosen enough that you might go the other way. There might be a tiny bit of plastic molding that’s jamming up the groove. Mine is still like that but I think it finally gave a little the other day. It’s hard ABS plastic so it’ll shatter before it bends if you force it. Be careful.
Just casually posing MP-51 again with the DR Wu P34P katanas I had a while back And my god she looks amazing with it, tho fitting the swords is a bit of a paint lol
bobby reviewed as expected the man with gorilla paw is too afraid to go beyond wish he is in this thread to see how much fun we are having lmao
>materials feel thin A dozen handstanding Arcees and 1 in car mode with hands popping out from the bottom would disagree, my good Skullfaced sir.
Yup, that review went exactly as I suspected it would go, even down to the mis-transformed backpack. Had a nice laugh when Rouge almost fell over, though. I also had a good laugh when he complained about having trouble posing her. Check this thread and be amazed, Bobby.
Hits every nail directly on the head for me... I am not and never have been BSF. The articulation looks (mostly) top draw, it's undeniably spot on in alt-mode, the colours and paint look great, I like some of the sculpt and detailing too... but top of my priory list has always been aesthetic, proportions, presentation.. it's all about how it looks on a shelf to me and this robot mode just doesn't cut it for me. The chest, thighs, stomach and backpack (even correctly transformed) just kill it for me... it looks bad. I can't speak to materials or thinness of panels but it's been a trend of late within the line so I'm not gonna doubt it.. and materials/durabiliy come second on my priority list. I was never gonna buy Arcee but shift in priorities here, with Hound, with Bee, even with Blackarachnia and Tigatron... it's a trend that has me worried about Starscream and future MPs in general. Of course if your priorities are different your mileage will vary.
It was a good review. I disagree with his statement about it feeling cheap but time will ultimately tell there. His Fanstoys bias showed when he said Rouge looks the best... eesh. He is right about everything else.
Can't say I disagree with everything he says. Can't say anything about the quality can build, as I don't own it, but can say that the back and chest-to-collar ratio do kill it for me. I would personally take a good looking Arcee bot mode with a compromised car mode than the other way around.
