Would that be because of his feet? Yes, they has some ankle articulation, but other than that, they don't look very versatile.

 

His feet go get a little lost in the bulk of his shins, but I'm not sure I'd pin the blame on them. A lot of my friction joints are tight (which is good), but which also makes them slow to move.

Just got mine last week and I feel morally compelled to confirm everything good about him.

 

Excellent figure, made a couple quick modifications

shaved off just a little bit from the forearm and the elbow and now he's able to bend his arm a bit past 90° which looks a lot better when he's holding his blaster

also I did some panel lining and took off the blast effect nubs for a much cleaner look

And I added some engine detailing for alt mode

 

That would've been nice. Unfortunately, the opening of the mushroom peg is blocked so no chance of a 3p replacement part either.

Well, unless you're very handy and steady with a soldering iron.

 

Just opened mine up and he is great. Only complaint, like others have noted, is the side panels below the cockpit in vehicle mode. Looking straight on from the front the right side has a slightly bigger gap than the left. Not that bad but would be nice if there was a way to close those up a little more.

 

I'd like a Selects Targetmaster Cyclonus repaint based on his original toy colors and detailing.

 

That'd be such an easy way to get me to by him twice give people options who don't like the current deco.

 

I'd buy a Selects Cyclonus that replicates the Unite Warriors deco, metallic paint and all.

Maybe I just have the lanky proportions of the Classics Deluxe in mind but does Cyclonus seem stubby to anyone else?

Not small, or short, I'm not a size queen, I just mean his thighs in particular seem shorter and out of proportion with the picture of Cyclonus in my mind. Does anyone else see this? Does it look better in person?

 

Is it that his legs appear slightly too short (kind of how earthrise prime's legs appear slightly too long)? I do see it as well but it does not make the figure look bad or anything

 

Yes, he is both a large Voyager and that's cool but his legs also seem slightly too short? I would have taken a slightly shorter torso for longer legs. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Cyclonus looks great, as good as any of the other technically impressive homages in the last couple of waves, but that discrepancy is sticking with me in a way that I kind of hope he gets Siege Magnus-esque thigh extenders, as improbable and weird as they may end up looking.

 

I dont have cyclonus yet (have not found him) but based on multiple reviews it looks like with how they did his knee joints you can actually make him taller but if you are not looking at it from straight ahead it will look weird because the upper and lower leg will be offset.

 

Nah, you're not weird, it's always more "heroic" and dynamic to have longer legs and a shorter torso. Japanese robots have all but perfected that balance, though Cyclonus doesn't necessarily follow that design principle.

Yeah, it's what I do. The double-joint of the knees doesn't lock anywhere, and since it hinges from the back of the leg it's easy to 'sink" the thighs too far into the lower legs, whilst raising them too much creates a gap, but there's a sweet spot in between I like that gives him suitably long legs without any big gaps.

 

Do you happen to have any pics of what the standard leg position on cyclonus looks like vs the method you described above with the sweet spot between height and non gappyness?
