I mentioned this in a different thread, but I think a show/ webseries consisting of one-off adventures through a handful of 1-3 episode arcs, revolving around different events in an every day Cybertron, it would have no real overarching plot and no looming planetary civil war, but it would have some reoccurring characters (old favorites and cult classics alike) in familiar and new settings.

Not a comic, game or movie but I think bringing tech specs back to the toylines. I don't see why most of the G1 tech specs can't be reprinted or slightly updated.

They were one of the most appealing aspects of the G1 toys. You instantly got a feel for the character with occasional back story that really contributed to your own head Canon.

The one or two lines of text more recent figures got were lacking.

Most of the G1 fiction such as Marvel, Sunbow and Ladybird were formed around them and they were vague enough not to contradict most series while still contributing greatly.

The Beast Hunters toyline in 2013 and Thrilling 30 attempted this but I believe Hasbro should start incorporating pack-in stories with figures. Each figure comes with a character-specific part of an overarching story that can be completed by purchasing all of the toyline (or through other means for those of us who have a budget).

    Marionettes.
    Shadow Play.

    And for more contemporary terms:
An interactive environment where you or a group of friends can enter in VR as canonical or custom-built TF characters and you have to perform missions in bot and alt modes.

Hi all, not sure if I'm supposed to post this sort of thread here or in the cartoon discussion (so please let me know!) But anyway heres my idea. I watched this video on the Transformers official Youtube Channel, and it made me think...in order for Hasbro and the creators of Transformers shows to save money and not have to do expensive computer animation;--- and this could also possibly allow them to have the budget to get celebrity and big name voice actors (Like actually have the money to get Peter Cullen for example) Hasbro could make an official Transformers stopmotion series. Even if it's only aimed at younger audiences (like Cyberverse) it could be highly successful and if it were to be done there would be no complaints from fans about the shows charachter models being different from the toys as the toys being sold would be the ones in the series.

Let me know what you think, I think the idea could have some potential.
The video I watched that gave me this idea is below.

A stop motion series would be really cool

I’ll like to see an anthology series where every episode is it’s own universe except for any multiparter arc

a starscream comedy series in the style of Harley Quinn the animated series where starscream is coming up with bizarre plans to kill megatron would be pretty cool.

I’ll also like to see a series where the decepticons won the war since there were a few series where the autobots won the war it would be pretty interesting to see the opposite

If only the Netflix series were half this entertaining. Although this 3 minute video would have been a full 24 minutes on netflix ...

I think a stop motion series would take too long to produce and would not be cost effective.

The continuity I’m working on (for a comic probably) is something like a quest storyline and takes place over the course of three-ish wars. One of the features of the story is a shorter timeline of Cybertronian existence as opposed to the “hundreds of millions of years” version.

    Edit:
This post is from a different thread that was merged into this one called “new story ideas” I think. Some of these posts are from that and are not actually meant to answer @ThunderDestron ’s criteria. Either way the stop motion seems to be pretty popular.

A series where optimus prime dies right away and never comes back.

I mean, its pretty obvious that all of the transformers media is just autobot propoganda to make us accept them as our overlords when they eventually invade us. I guess the most creative medium at this point is just to let them invade us.

In all seriousness, there are some good suggestions recently. The stop motion ideas that have been suggested sound interesting. Making a large game that is actually good sounds fun too.

I kinda liked the idea that the Beast Hunters toyline used, a chapter included with each toy released of a larger story.

This technically counts as a show, but a different medium of a TV show....

Do what the Unicron Trilogy did. A whole new toyline in America, an anime made in Japan with some creative input by Hasbro, and the option to watch either the sub or dub.

Make it "tight reins" rather than "creative input" and maybe. The continuity snarls for both Cybertron/Galaxy Force and Aligned both happened because the media licensees ignored the plans of Hasbro/Takara and did their own thing.

That problem occurred because of multiple licensees all working in the same universe, but not wanting to be restricted by someone else's plans or past works. Based on what I'm gathering from @Cyberbot8460's post, it would just be the one production group making the anime, and they would get to make their own plans for their new universe and story, aside from Hasbro throwing in requirements based on the toyline.

... which results in stuff like IDW1. Again, Hasbro needs to keep tight reins on the media licensees.

Maybe it would be better if instead of spending thousands(?) on a production bible and then finding out know one wanted to follow it, if they instead hired someone to be the story director (or whatever the appropriate title would be) of a specific continuity. They’d give that person the plot synopsis or whatever and build off of that. They’d supervise the storylines written by the independent writers to make sure they fit. (Think Dave Filoni from Star Wars or Kevin Feige from Marvel)

I would agree if Hasbro wasn't cowardly. Hasbro is too afraid of being creative, just continually milking G1, so unless they would toughen up and accept new things, I would let the anime studio do what they want with some creative input from Hasbro. Need I also state that it was "tight reins" on a media license that resulted in the WFC Trilogy shows? There are upsides and downsides. Ultimately, if we're talking about anime of an existing IP, it tends to turn out better if you give equal creative input to the studio and the company that owns the IP(e.g SSSS.Gridman)

Come to think of it a strategy game like Star Craft but with the Transformers could be pretty decent.
