Not loving the open mouth expression. The adjustable height for the legs is cool. It's Magic Square so the transformation should be fun. I think I am reading the Weibo post correctly there will rubber tires and replacement rubber tires?

Reflector was one of my favorite legends last year, and he/they turned out better than Soundwave and the Seekers.
Looks close to done. Wonder if this will ship after CNY? Magic Square might have a very busy first half of 2021.

According to the text it should begin shipping to retailers in late January, so it'll be cutting it close to see if they can then get it to customers before they shutdown in the beginning of February.

It's exciting to see a sleeper announcement like this. I don't think we've seen anything on him since their Ark crew silhouette teaser. I wonder who else they might surprise us with? Will Cliffjumper fans f i n a l l y have a figure to enjoy?

It is interesting that they held this back instead showing it off at the Shanghai convention. I hope Cliffjumper is in the works.

Haha, Magic Square’s carbot alt modes have been cracking me up since Trailbreaker. Between that one, the Datsuns, and Bumblebee here, they all have the same feeling: like someone saw a particular car, looked at it carefully, but then went to try and draw it from memory without looking at any reference images. They’re all just a little off and a little too boxy. But it’s a consistent look, at least. In a way it kind of evokes the simplified, “eh, close enough” way the vehicle modes were drawn in G1 animation. So maybe it’s a deliberate stylistic choice.

 

I feel like they and NewAge are starting to hold their figures closer to their chests before revealing. Though I wonder if NewAge announcing their V2 was because they got wind that MST was about to drop their version.

I will always like the original NA Flipper but I think I'm in for this. In the end I may get NA's too. Who knows. I can't tell from their prototype how I feel about it, TBH. I just hope one of them finally drops a Cliffjumper.

The height option is neat. Honestly not sure which one I prefer.

I squawk about their car modes but this one doesn't bother me. Bee was never shown in the toon as a normal VW. I would have liked at least a little slope to the windshield but I can live with it. It doesn't bother me like the lack of curves in their Datsun molds.

 

I just know I’m gonna end up getting two new bees in addition to flipper. This looks really great, however he better have a swappable head. If not it might be a deal breaker. I don’t know if I could tolerate that expression when he’s posed for battle.

 

Awesome! This one's SO much better than flipper and Herbie. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the headsculpt, but it's a minor gripe. Would anyone else buy a Goldbug remold?

I'm pretty happy with NA 'Bee, but I'm liking what I see here. And I would love to see a Cliffjumper version, which I could see coming from this guy with replaced backpack and feet (and head of course).

 

I don't know if the original text is different, or if they are the same which translation is more accurate, but the Facebook translation of the post on Daimchoc's page says "The new scouting team is coming!" (bold is my edit) where the text you quoted says "new investigation photos are here!". Cliffjumper and Hound are the ones I would think of first for such a team.

One saving grace is how small it is. It is easy to miss when you aren't focused on it specifically. Look at the picture with Optimus and it is already hard to see if you aren't looking for it, and in real life on display it wouldn't even be zoomed in that much.

The head seems a little small, and the hands are definitely way too small. I'm sure there's engineering constraints on both, but they're what are really throwing me off this one.

 

Looks... alright. The alt mode is awful, though. MST always makes their cars overly boxy but that's a lot harder to forgive with something like a VW Bug.
