So, we get straxus and SG megatron from this figure now, but SG megatron doesn't have a sleek jet mode, is there a way to position the treads and arms to hide away or otherwise resemble wings better?

I preordered the metallic version from Show Z today. I don't normally go for the metallic versions, but I like the blue metallic color more than the purple. If anyone wants to trade the fat suit for a matrix, I'm open for trading when they arrive.

 

Does anyone think NA is affected by the DX9 fallout? If they’re connected to DX9 like many of us suspect then maybe that’s why they’re so slow right now? Skullface talks about it in his RIP DX9 video and I’m starting to think that maybe he’s right and they’ll have to rebrand yet again and find a new production chain.

It sure is taking them an uncharacteristically long time to get Darius released.

 

Is it? Darius was first teased in November 2020, and looks like it's supposed to come out... well, stores that I just checked are reporting anything from February to April, so who really knows. But, anyway, Scaramanga was teased in March 2020 and came out around October. Chimera was teased in, like, December 2019 and then came out in August 2020. I think NewAge is pretty much "business as usual".

In terms of DX9 connections, the story I heard on this forum is that when DX9 cancelled their War in Pocket line of Legends toys, the designers for that line left and formed NewAge. I dunno how true that is, or what "left to form X" really means (did they break all ties? Are they literally still sitting in the same office and using the same bank account/factories/etc but just stamping a different name on the product? No idea), but I got the impression that they are pretty separate entities at this point.

 

no i dont think so. it looks like the "main" guy/designer behind NA was only fulfilling his last obligations with DX9 for the that one stunticon. after that it appears he is free to go out to the world and do whatever he likes now. even talk about the business deal he didnt like.

if anything is slowing NA down now it's the factories. i hear they are literally overwhelmed with work and shit. when they get their slots with will flood the market again.

 

don't worry, once NA opens up the flood gates, they'll hit us with all the various decos like gangbusters to the detriment of our wallets.    

 

EX has very beautiful colors but for suit extra is clearly a Japanese headmasters version,and I search instead s3, for this movies seems the best choice.
Judging from last posts is possible that we could wait a little for their arrival,if NA has a lot to work to do. Hope that in early February, Darius will arrive on first online shops.

 

Yeah you guys are probably right. Usually (in the past) if they release the promo shots (not just a tease) it means they’re ready to start bombarding us. Hopefully it’s just the factory is backed up and the designer is just fulfilling that stunticon (I never heard about that one before, where did you see that he’s involved with the Stunticons?).

 

Wasn't there a render from NA for Breakdown released around the same time they showed off their renders for Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus?

 

in the DX9 menasor thread there are some post he made and about the end of their partnership and then the fate of DX9 was later discussed.

it basically boils down to this...

he did a lot of work for the owner design wise and maybe as a financier. he was the man behind the first 4 and there was an issue about the money he was promised and maybe point's or whatever. so he said he was done and parted ways with his squad and is finally free now to go all in with NEWAGE.

then DX9 brought in some other designer to finish dragstrip. so as soon as the last stunticon dropped the story basically broke.

Does anyone know when this is actually releasing? With NA I feel like once we see painted final product we are a month out from release but I’m seeing ETAs ranging from Dec 2020-April 2021 for this guy. I’ve been holding off on my s3-s4 watch until I have this guy in hand.

I'm guessing the EX, toy and others will come after CNY but that's just a guess. I can't find any pics of the packaging like we usually get around this time if a Newage release is imminent! I want to get SG and Toy versions too but I can't afford them if they all come at once!:S

Haven't NA sometimes released other variants later all at the same time? Like clear and gold Megatron or am I remembering wrong?
