Hehe...he's like a trophy spouse...looks good for display but man shallow substance.

Jokes aside, this figure will not survive a week on my collection... As I said before, this figure is perfect for collectors that only displays the figures without transforming them or touching them. The figure (for me) is too weak for a confident transformation, everything makes weird sounds, everything is super tight, transformation isn't smooth and some parts needs to be forced to be collapsed.

The details are gorgeous, also the paintwork, the quantity of pieces is insane but also the QC issues (more pieces, more source of issues). It's very accurate with the film and it's hard to say that he can turns in a Truck, it's very very well designed (black magic there!).

If you're a collector like me that likes to take tons of pictures, change accessories / poses and transforming them with confidence, this won't be your figure. It's expensive and could have issues easily if you play with him too much.

If you're a "display" collector I recommend you to get this figure at a good price, better the Standard version because the Deluxe is really useless; tons of imaginary weapons that you won't use if you are of those who wants to display a Movie Accurate figure. Anyway, the Standbase with light/sounds and attachable blaster effects are very cool, but not necessary at all. Keep this in mind: transform him under your own risk.

It's just my personal opinion but I prefer to help potential buyers like me that can be overwhelmed. The hype before having this figure is very strong and the reality is very different in hands.

It's perfect as a display figure, but isn't good as a transforming figure. Easily breakable.

Edit: My God... a friend of mine said me that he really wanted the figure asap, so... I sold it to him just now.   I'm a little upset because it was the Christmas present from my wife. -_-

 

all i did to fix this issue was put a little bit of glue at the bottom hinge where the faceplate connects like where the joint is, worked for me, but urs definitely seems like smarter and more permanent solution

I just took a gamble on a deluxe version for $190 shipped on eBay from someone with 92% feedback. Wish me luck.

 

The problem isn't the seller. The gamble is the figure itself. You won't never know what you'll gonna find inside the box. I wish you luck!.

 

to fix the neck being a pain to get past his chest windows it could be re engineered into the three metal parts with the two outer parts on hinges so it could fold to get around the clearance issues but there are so many other parts that are just too tight on the clearances, if you want to display it only in robot mode its cheaper version of the 3a figure that can in theory transform but I hope you have the patience and finesse to do so, might have a crack at designing an upgrade kit though, less painful to remove cybertronian hub caps, trailer hitch adapters and such maybe

but my personal opinion about this figure is great.... the best articulated Optimus Prime figure so far...
already playing with him for several weeks... and still not change what's in my mind

You're lucky then. In my case I like to transform the figures and take tons of pictures, and this figure can't give me the sufficient confidence to do it.

I do transform him a few times, and try some good poses too... But as long as you carefully follow the step by step guide it will transform without "pain"....

which shoulder joint are you talking about? the one connected to the arm itself is pretty good on mine, but if youre talking ab the hingethat connects it to the body, I had some trouble with that one too. You could probably use a little dab of superglue or whatever people use for that nowadays. I used kiki personally and it works pretty good, but its kinda expensive for what it is so id reccomend trying other methods with stuff u prolly already have before dishing out 10 dollars just for something specifically to tighten joints

 

I bought Autobot stickers for this guy back in like March and they never came. Don't even remember the website at this point and going through the effort of refund isn't worth the 3 euros I paid.

 

Yo what’s happening everybody. Still relatively new to the TFW Board. I had such high hopes for this figure but the QC issues in this guy is so bad that i really don’t want to touch him. And I’m sad about that, cause I love posing them and taking pictures. I’m tempted to trade him for the MP-49 Nemesis Prime with a friend of mine. But on the other hand, idk if another company is making a MpM style BB Movie Optimus Prime. What you guys think?

 

Several are making them. Or at least they were the last time we had updates.

Transcraft is making one. Haven't heard from them in months on this specific figure, but they just released their BumbleBee and it's fantastic. Hopefully, their Prime is equally great.

Toy Lab is also making one, but haven't heard anything from them at all.

TMT is said to be making one, but haven't seen any concept art yet.

I'm happy with my Fire Scorpion for now, but if you didn't like Freedom Leader, you probably won't like Fire Scorpion either since they both have glaring issues.

 

Unfortunately i made the decision a few weeks back that i am going to let my pre-order lapse on this figure. Whilst i appreciate that there's been a few good community ideas to resolve some of the issues, i'd rather redirect the funds to something else. If they can do a later release having fixed the issues then i might get back on board.

 

You can also use pledge clear floor polish. Just a drop in the ball socket. Then rotate the hand in the joint for a minute or less. Let dry over night and you will have no problem. The fingers too if they are too loose.

 

Friend, I found the fix pages ago without using pledge... Many users are positioning the hands badly, and the grey piece must be pushed like this:

 

Just got my Nemesis. Didn't get the original version and went into this knowing about the issues, which are also present for me, floppy hands, chest tabbing being the main ones but I'm happy with the non invasive fan fixes. I'm really happy I got it, the transformation had a few quirks but it's fine, I think it's an impressive figure! I might get a Transcraft BB Prime to Square off against him in the future!
