As someone said, pics on the news item about takaras release. A bit frustrating, when you consider neither warpath nor cliffjumper had such gaps. I fear pipes will suffer the same fate...

Those are the opposite of cankles. They're negacankles. Wow, is that a hollow set of legs. Geez.

Those gaps are there because of his transformation

I mean, based on how it looks like his transformation works... how weren't there gonna be gaps there?

I feel like it was a missed opportunity to not use the grey truck bed to at least partially cover those gaps.

Ehhh... it's a different Huffer, though.

Yeah but that's not technically that Huffer, is it. It's a bit anal, so if he works for you as a G1 Huffer, cool.

you all seriously gonna piss on Hubcap , a great figure which has simple and intuitive transformation, because of some usual leg gaps

Why do people act like that hasn't been a design aspect in Transformers from Day 1? Any Transformer designed to have the legs flip over and encompass the thighs probably has hollow shins. That's how it's always been.

Not sure at what point we got so spoiled that aesthetic perfection from every single angle suddenly became a make-or-break design issue, when it's nothing we've ever been offered in the entire 35-year history of the brand. At least, not without paying an extremely hefty premium for. And even Masterpiece isn't 100% perfect in that regard. Transformation design, and plastic engineering needs hollow spaces. End of story.

I'm just excited that we're getting a Huffer and Pipes that's not a repaint of core Optimus.

In all seriousness, Huffer looks great, & has me pumped for my #1 want in Kingdom (aside from maybe Galvatron): Pipes. I'm eager to see how much remolding he gets. My speculation is, he won't come with a gun like Huffer, but the pipes that attach to his arms will double as the sides of his truck bed.

(Also, it would be pretty cool if we got Huffer repainted as Puffer...)

Yeah, but isn't one of the selling points in having minibots at deluxes is to have no gaps? Also, its hard to imagine not just having two flaps to cover up the gaps couldn't have been easily done. Doesnt matter to me in that I'm not interested in huffed, but I like pipes, so yeah this kinda bothers me.

2010 HFTD Terradive, from what was the golden age of Transformers toys IMO. He's even worth the aftermarket prices, I'd say.

Having just acquired one, he is.

Am I gonna start having to necro ancient review threads? Teaching people the old ways?

The point isn’t for them to have no gaps necessarily, warpath has plenty of gaps in his mold. These minibots are however much more articulated than they would be at legends/core class, which is part of the point

He's even better as the TFCC Depth Charge recolor. They're all over ebay for about $35.

Necroing is only against the rules if you're not contributing to the discussion or community in a constructive way right? I think juxtaposing the design philosophies of that era with that of the present would make for interesting commentary.

I have to disagree personally, Terradive's colors appeal to me more, but yes, TFCC Depth Charge does look fucking awesome regardless.

Space Case is the ultimate version of the mould, FWIW.

Shame the tridents always disintegrate at the hinge.
