As has been said before, this is a really stellar stransformation, it really seems like it should be the basis for the next MP or MPalike version we get. It's much cleaner in dealing with the nosecone, and despite being so easy to do, everything is completely sealed up from all angles, even the area around his neck doesn't feel like a mess of hinges. The next improvements to make would be to slim up his legs a bit and firm up his knees, they're so deep that his feel feel a little lost inside his boots. Maybe an iteration on this could have the front face of the legs recess back, that would deal with the thickness, make the toes more prominant and could serve as the lock for the knees.

Maybe find a way to clean up the wing shards that hide behind his biceps too, but that's really nitpicking. Really, he's a good robot, an impressively clean and sleek spaceship, all connected by a top tier transformation that is equal parts clever, intuitive and effective at cleaning up after itself.

Picked him up today. He and Scourge are probably my two favorite transformers since a while. The nosecone transformation seems to have taken inspiration from Fans Toys Quietus figure.

Wait wait wait. What’s going on here?

This figure can’t have come from Hasbro. It feels so different - it genuinely reminds me of the old figures we used to get from the initial run of Classics or Cybertron. It just feels so... good! No thin plastic, nothing that feels like it’ll break within 5 minutes, no QC problems.

I’m honestly really impressed with the sheer quality of this release. It feels premium compared to what we tend to get these days. Just a solidly built figure made out of decent chunky plastic.

I wonder if perhaps Hasbro used a different company or factory to run this guy? Who knows. Great figure though and highly recommended

He's very shwooshable. Can't swoosh a tank, spider, rat or fossilized T-Rex.

    Possibly the cheetah.

Up to today, I didn't think HasTak could improve anymore on Universe 2.0. Then today I opened Kingdom Cyclonus. Oh...my! This guy is amazing. I love almost everything about this guy. I love the face sculpt, the articulation, the quality, the wings being positioned like in the show, no kibble, etc. I still have yet to open BW Megatron and haven't picked up Primal yet but Cyclonus is easily the star of Kingdom wave 1 to me so far and I dare say a very strong contender for TF toy of the year for 2021. I would even love to see a darker purple Selects repaint as "his Armada". I was wanting a MP Cyclonus some day, but I don't know if a MP can make any more improvements than they already did with this one.

If there was one thing I had to ding on this mold is the very tip of his alt mode. I wish they had molded in a little tab or notch to swing that point out when its folded up trying to transform him to jet mode. I had to use a small file to get it out. But that is VERY minor compared to everything else.

I find the nub of Cyclonus’s rifle to be just narrow and rounded enough to get the nose cone tip started when going to jet mode.

I’m really loving this guy. Great Robot mold, awesome and huge alt mold, and a fun transformation.

Here are a few snap shots of Cyclonus and his armada.

I am blown away by how good this guy is. Completely unexpected. Even the face doesn't bother me.

I would like to figure out how to get the panels next to the cockpit/sides of the chest to sit flush, one of them is a bit frustrating. Maybe the pin is shot in wrong.

I would love to see this remolded in the selects line or a two pack like Impactor, give me an IDW head please

Thanks so much for the comparison. I have to be honest... I think I still prefer the look of the Universe 2.0 mold. I have the one from the Rodimus vs. Cyclonus 2 pack during the RTS days that actually pretty closely matches the Kingdom figure's colors. I just think the older figure's additional sculpted detail really adds to the look. But... I can't ignore the big size difference. And while I'm not a big stickler for scale, I have to imagine the Kingdom figure will look much better alongside SS86 Scourge and Kingdom Galvatron.

The Universe 2.0 Cy I used is the RTS version from the 2 pack. The colors look closer in person though. To be honest the I do prefer the sculpting on the U 2.0 version’s robot mode, but the sacrifices made in alt mode just don’t jive with me. Kingdom Cy has two awesome modes with no sacrifices made to either. If you find him pick him up you can down grade him to “his armada”.

I can't remember who said it now, but yeah, now I agree that Cyclonus doesn't pose as well as he should. He technically has all the right joints, but his mobility is like a brick.

Yeah, they certainly tried (even fitting in a waist joint when the body transformation would have given them an excuse to omit), but posing him is weirdly stodgy. Everything is there, even bonus points like the waist and extra movementt at the base of the neck, but in this respect he feels like less than the sum of his joints.

Just for fun, and because I am curious, could someone try a gerwalk mode with the new cyclonus like this:
I mean, if the universe/classics can do, I wonder if the new voyager can do better.

    Cool, thanks. :thumb
That confirms that the wings would have to be in an angle, but not so bad. I believe that if the legs were turned back, it would be possible to make more aggressive poses. The only problem seems to be some ugly hollowness in the back portion of the cockpit.
