Hence the wheels. Put all your figures in it, roll it across the floor, store it where ever kids store their toys.
I would love if hasbro rethought their 4” figure. I know what you’re talking about on some of the 25th. The vehicles used to be so good. Vehicles need to have a renaissance.
If you want a bunch of good quality 3.75 GI Joe-style figures for cheap, I’d recommend Dollar Tree’s Final Faction toyline. The plastic quality is really good and the sculpts remind me of early ‘90s GI Joe. I got a couple and I’m pretty happy with them. https://www.dollartree.com/final-faction I gave up on Classified as well after repeatedly striking out at my local Targets, so I feel you on that one. It’s nice to be able to sate my GI Joe fix until the Snake Eyes movie comes out.
Like I mentioned, a carrying case is not simply storage. A base without wheels serves as storage, you simply aren’t rolling it from one part of your room to another to leave. If you have to roll the toy to move it from place to place it’s inherently not a carrying case. so, we are in agreement that base toys serve as storage, and nothing about storing your toys requires wheels to enhance the storage ability.
The DTC line was a Renaissance back in the day. The ROCC and Rhino(?) are still two of my favorite vehicles of all time. Just with 25th scales better with them though.
I followed that Dollar Tree link. I like the effort they put in to developing bios for the characters and producing a cgi cartoon short to go along with them. Surprising, even.
Last week, I won a sealed cobra island trooper in a raffle and it looks like the package was stolen off my front porch today It would have been my first and likely, only trooper. Anyone want to take pity on me and help me acquire a viper? I'm in NYC and it seems as of now, literally only one of the 19 targets in the 5 boroughs have received any vipers Not sure why hasbro/target cant do better.
Hasbro can only produce as many figures as Target orders. It’s been years since gi Joe was a popular brand and Target didn’t want to order tons of figures that might have to be discounted to sale. Once again the popularity of these caught the higher ups off guard.
I had a conversation with two employees at a different retailer, what was said during this conversation, is that one manager at one of the NYC Targets, basically had all of the Vipers and Fireflys held for him. I do not know how true this is, but one of the gentlemen I was speaking to said, he does trades with this manager.
Well guys I got scammed on ebay from a seller selling two Cobra Troopers and hopefully get a refund from that fiasco, but yeah. Man, this blows moppet farts. And the same seller did it again to another collector. Geez!
A seller who tries to scam people on ebay is an idiot when the buyers can scam a seller for any reason and the seller has no power.
Yeah, I'm not sure how outside of setting up a dummy bank account that you close out each time you do this... how they intend to get away with it. eBay will side with the buyer and then pull the money from your PayPal or bank account if you've given them access to it.
The question that got asked about interest in Classified? I got my Vipers and as far as I'm concerned if I get nothing else I'll be okay. Classified...man. It has amazing sculpts and paint apps. Love the articulation and even the nerf guns these guys carry. But goddamn it. Nothing kills a line and interest like not being able to find it. Never saw a single Cobra Island anything aside from the Vipers I got that day. Only ever saw regular retail guys two or three times. Never saw anything aside from Duke, Scarlett and Commander. So until something changes I'm done. A shame because I've always been a Joe fan first.
Yeah same here. I usually give toylines 4-6 months of “entrance” time where I wait to see how much of the first wave I can get. BBTS has the basic figures and I’m cool with that, but knowing that the future of the line is constructed on a concept of 30-40% of it being completely unavailable in any form...well...can’t really commit to something like that. If they publicly came out and told us they’re changing the model or rereleasing figures that’s one thing, but silence + unavailability is not something I’m interested in at my age and phase of collecting.
Yeah. I'm still going to be sore about the Trooper. It's painful that the retail Trooper has the small gun instead of the big gun. I'm used to disappointment as a Joe fan. But Classified feels like getting Hypoxia at 10,000 feet and you didn't recover from that spiral descent. I got my Vipers and I still felt crushed.
If they do end up canceling the line due to poor sales, then I'll be quite happy with the small Joe team I have acquired. I don't really need 50+ characters for what is supposed to be a small specialized task force. I'm perfectly fine with the members only being like 15 or so. The only remaining characters I consider must haves are Hawk, Stalker, and Spirit because of how much focus they had in the comics. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want a few more, as I definitely want Covergirl, Shipwreck, BBQ, Tunnel Rat, and Torch, but as I said, the former three are most important. The only Cobra members that must be done are Storm Shadow, Bludd, and the twins. However, I'm still under the impression that this line got screwed over by Covid.
In more ways than one. Half the product was supposed to be movie designs, but those all got held back when the movie got delayed
I've been hearing this thought process a lot more lately and while I intend to keep supporting the line, I can't fault anyone for pushing the brakes. This line has not been fun to collect. It feels more like a job and it's the reason I stopped collecting Pops. Even when I found Vipers, the sense of dread never quite went away. Because there is always the next releases. I can see myself supporting this line for a few years but if nothing changes in regards to distribution, even I will jump ship.
Oh, I just want to powerbomb this asshole into a table that has broken glass and thumb tacks on it and is on fire. But that's a bit extreme and yeah I agree this seller is scum and lower than dirt itself. As for the Classified line goes I dig it too. Guys, but man like everyone is saying the distribution of these figures is absolutely abysmal to the point in gets really ugly sometimes with customers and Target employees and shit hits the proverbial fan.
