How exactly is it misleading? It's no more misleading than any artist interpretation of boxart. My Kingdom Cheetor doesn't look much like the artwork.

Imagine how good these would have been if they'd had the G1 Headmasters inside of them. Some of the greatest G1 toys ever. Never reissued. Would have been amazing.

    These are pointless.

I mean, these are better than toys from the 80's, but to each their own.

These are actually things people will buy, unlike most of the G1 reissues that a large part of the toy audience didnt care about.

No reason NOT to reissue the better figures if given the opportunity.

Also, is anyone else unreasonably sad they went with the LG Takara head for Brainstorm? He's a damn good toy, but if I was gonna buy him in a G1 box I'd still want him to have his mouthplate, dang it! :lol

Yeah. Been waiting so long that I caved and modded my exclusive million publishing goshooter with the detective adapter so I could put the Goshuta Titan master in. I'd still love new versions. I mean, real titan master versions with transtectors.

Takara heads and slightly different paint jobs. There's a comparison thread somewhere here. I didn't notice it at first, thought they were the same as Takara, but mostly I think these are the best paint jobs. But not different enough to buy the figure again if you already have the Takara releases.

Disagree. The G1 reissues you mention that no one cared about, but were near to impossible for most to find, were all reissues of reissues. People already had them. These would have flown out.

    As for better toys?

if you think tiny heads with poor paint jobs that barely attach, a Mindwipe my kid could make a better Lego version of and that breaks if you look at is better. Sure.

If G1 is so unpopular, why pack them in these boxes at all?

G1 iconography is popular and eye catching, but the original toys are kind of shit by today's standards.

Anyone have side by side pictures of the original TR and these?

Except for the cassette characters, which are still the best versions aside from the MPs.

Oh goodness no! He looks like a monster with that mouth plate. I like his face to actually have character and look like his animation model.

Hey, I like the original G1 Headmasters as much as the next guy, but part of the reason people like these retro ones is because they're only like $20 and not whatever ungodly price Hasbro would have likely charged for actual reissues (assuming Hasbro would have even remade more than one and not just did say Chromedome and called it a day).

Hey! I resent that! [continued below].............:lolol

......I love myself those bricks that can also serve as the following stuff Cardion mentioned :lol

Besides the clusterfk that was GodFireConvoy, the only company I would trust to do a re-issue/Encore type for the original Headmasters and Jrs would be Takara (Yup, same company stuck to the hip with Hb ) but compare their releases (TFC and Encore) over the Hb ones (Commemorative :puke: ). The recent SW, cassettes and minobots were kinda okay but Devs and Blaster (the mold is really showing its age) are like subpar. Why'd they ditched Optimus' trailer?:mad

And yup! I'll accept the ungodly price ranges if there are improvements on them. Encore Metroflex has some improvements with Slammer etc etc.

Optimus' trailer was missing from the walmart reissue because they had to create an entirely new mold for Prime, the previous molds were too degraded. This is also part of why just the cab cost $50usd. Including the trailer would have increased the price further due to that needing a new mold as well

The toys looked like robots. The animation looked like humans. Transformers are robots. They don't need eyes, nose & a mouth constantly. I can't stand all the human faces that totally ruined the cool robot faces from the original toys. Trailbreaker, Tracks, Brainstorm, Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Huffer, Windcharger to name a few. So many awesome looking characters were ruined by the stupid animation.

Even worse is what they did to the Gobots. That cartoon is an abomination.

With new technologies now, restoring the new molds are more expensive now? Besides that, if Takara could sell that MP-44 monster price tag, what's a little for the little truck that started it all?

I used that as a point of argument, because, well, it's Optimus. And the ER trailer is like, man, it was so half hazard stripped down.........:cry  How far have we gone down now? Hasbro can move Jabba's Sail Barge and not Optimus original G1? Are we to the point of moving awesome things through crowdfunding?

Disclosure: I do own several versions of the OG Opimus so it doesn't affect me as much as having other fans have the same "wow" experience with the original set with the trailer, launching Roller and the role playing with "Autobot Headquarters etc. Sad.

3/4th of the walmart reissues rotted on shelves. Optimus, Hot Rod, Blaster, Astrotrain, Soundwave. People say "its because of the price being hiked". Well if you want G1 reissues nowadays, then thats the price theyre mostly gonna cost. Its the price of materials. Those arent cheap to manufacture, and are more expensive to ship due to weight.

This is the G1 feel with the newer, cheaper, and better toys.
