The other thing is that DX9 menasor may be as ugly AF, but at least their combined mode is very stable.

That said, the loose wrists was something XTB should have addressed before release. I dunno, is there something that should lock the wrists in place to stop it from flopping around?

More mistransformed feet   You can tell everyone's following Bens video for the transformation rather than the instructions.

I'll wait and see for myself before placing much importance in that review. He's hardly got anything tabbed in properly, feet mistransformed, none of the cars look secured, even the grey sections of the arm frames aren't properly tabbed into the red/yellow outer sections, which may hopefully explain the loose wrists.

Can anyone else that has theirs comment on the criticisms from this video?

Just seems like he needs to get it all transformed properly before he can really start making out it's a floppy mess. If it's still crap after that then fair enough, not good enough from XTB. Hopefully it's not commonplace though and this is a largely positive release.

Everybody freaking out at the ratchet-less forward/backwards movement, when it's the sideways ratchets that slip :D .

I just dug out some of my other 3P Combiners again to mess with, and I noted that Gravity Builder and Ordin are also similar. No ratchets forward/back, but none of the stability issues with them are due to the torso giving out. It tends to be other ripple effect issues with some of the smaller component's joints, or play between the ratchets.

As for the wrists and biceps, perhaps they could be tighter, but honestly that's also a pretty frequent flaw once you start going up in scale like this. Those accessories, especially giant swords, start exerting an inordinate amount of torque forces on the swivels. Trying to get TFC Poseidon to hold up his sword one-handed is a joke.

Friction pads really need to become a standard thing for large-scale figures like this, though. They relieve a massive amount of burden, letting friction take the brunt of the load, rather than relying purely on joint tightness.

You can move the head without it coming un tabbed but if you push down on the back it instantly comes out. It's not supported very well.

The right wrist on mine is very loose and left bicep is a little too. The panels on the inner arm do not tab at all for me but friction holds them quite well. Ankles are weak which causes issues with stability.

Makes me wonder how weak the forward and backward friction joints are if freaking ratchet joints go “yoink”

I honestly think for the sake of the combined mode and saving on cost, they should have forgotten about the base mode and just focused on a stable combiner that turns into a trailer.

From the video, they seem pretty strong. Looks like he has to put some serious effort into moving the hips and the knees.

The thing with ratchet joints is that they tend to be pretty weak from a pure friction standpoint. They rely on pure spring resistance to hold. But if you get some good momentum going, then they're easily overcome. Everybody likes finer, shallower ratchets because the higher indexing allows for finer pose adjustment, but it also means the ratchet teeth are shallower and provide less resistance. Get some momentum on that joint, and ratchets can also "skip", where the spring fails to fully reset and engage the gear, so its resistance is even less.

I ordered from Show.Z as well. Mine still shows as "PreOrder, All Payment Received Waiting for Release". This due to them not having the accessories? Just had to reach out to them about my Xtransbots Dr. Egg... Shipped Dec. 19th and I still haven't gotten it yet. Hoping that when this finally gets shipped it doesn't take quite as long.

I think 2 people actually have the trailer... are you seriously asking if anyone else has any issues?

I think ShowZ is just sending out the trailer and accessories separately, my trailer went out but not the accessories.

Well, It looks like some modifications will be needed to tighten some joints. I hope that means I don't have to unscrew certain sections. I will see if I need to cut pieces off a styrene sheet to place in some joints, something i had to do with Gravestone when his head kept popping out

I have to agree, it looks really damn great. It looks so well proportioned compared to the DX9 trailer!

For f**ks sake! Why is this so hard, especially for Menasor? At this point I just really wish someone had made a non-transforming Menasor...lightweight with ratchets the size of walnuts everywhere. I love all the individual modes of pretty much each company.

I'm gonna reserve judgement until others and myself get this in hand. Speaking of, come on ShowZ, ship my damn trailer already..

The wrists and bicep swivels definitely look looser than expected which is not ideal. The legs however, it's tough to really judge from that video, considering the feet aren't expanded for more surface area. Also it didn't look like he even had the feet flat on the surface when the ratchets gave out, not to mention the awkward thigh swivel outwards :

    upload_2021-1-13_21-42-22.png

I'm absolutely not implying he set it up to fail. Heavier bots however, pants-formers included, you need to have a solid base to have any hope of stability. If the feet aren't planted and the legs are awkwardly rotated, you're gonna have a bad time. Anyway, looking forward to more impressions.

Not gonna happen tonight. I started transforming it and had to walk away. Too tired to deal with all those fucking panels. Got about half way through it.

I picked a hell if a time to quit sniffing glue.

I hope there's a way to get rid of the base mode for the toy version so that it can be easier to transform.
