You know...white modeling paint doesn't cost that much if someone is really bent out of shape about Hasbro not painting pegs meant for things going on them. The opposite of that is people using the pegs and then complaining that the paint is rubbing off and blaming Hasbro for poor QC.

 

Man that alt mode is so low effort but GODDAMN the bot mode blows the Siege one out of the water. Siege feels like the Bismarck and Kingdom feels like the British battle group that sunk her. Unf. Need this in my life so hard!

 

Bot mode looks decent but not $50 decent. If it goes down to $25, I'll bite otherwise pass.

 

Maybe it's the same designer of ER Ironhide. Instead of trying to figure out what to do with the feet, they just decided to submit it as Final and go to happy hour.

 

The Siege/Kingdom bot mode is a great figure. The Kingdom alt, given that up until now they've stuck pretty close to G1, leaves a lot to be desired.

I would say if people only care about a screen-accurate bot to go with their ER/86 dudes...it's a worthwhile pick up. If you're adamant about the alt mode and/or already have Siege...just wait. Odds are pretty good at some point they'll figure out how to deliver a more accurate alt. Perhaps even the rumored original plan which was a new trailer to go with ER Prime.

It looks like they modded the trailer to sit further back so there\'s a believeable earth cab + trailer look.  Not exactly necessary, but appreciated.  Except he has no turning axis, so he still moves like a bus, and a touch weird they made the sides more solid, but whatever; he looks like an cab hauling a hollow thing you could theoretically put a car inside and on top.  That\'ll do pig.

 

You know...not everyone wants to custom paint their toys, god forbid people want something that you don't care about  

 

I like this better than the Siege figure but why didn't they make the hands fold/push away and the feet on the back of the trailer need to fold away? Those two things detract from the vehicle mode in a significant way.

 

This is some real low effort level work, Hasbro. FFS, you could have at least painted ER Prime white and made a brand new trailer. Instead, you belch out three variations of the same mediocrity in as many years.

C- for effort.

 

Alt mode is still weak AF. Waiting for another iteration of the character.

 

Happy for those who want him, not even nearly different enough from Siege UM to justify a double dip especially as I still love that 2019 figure.

 

Unless 3rd party comes along with new arms that can properly hide away I can\'t see the point of buying this figure. 

 

I am a fan of Siege UM. I like its armor style design. This Kingdom UM looks good to me in the sense that it slightly updated Siege UM to be consistent with Earthrise/Kingdom style. Of course, if Hasbro had made more effort to make the cab better, it would be better/great. But I am okay with the current product design; not perfect but okay.

Most of the armor looks redone.

 

I was never a big fan of Ultra Magnus so this is good enough to go with my 86 movie bots. I'll be getting this guy & the price doesn't bother me because I'll be skipping most of the Beast Wars figures.

But I do hate it when the head or fists are exposed in alt mode.

Why am I skipping Beast Wars? Because they're not going to make all the characters so I don't see the point. If Hasbro wants to do Beast Wars again it needs to be it's own line. They should have finished the WFC trilogy & made Beast Wars/Beast Machines the next trilogy.

 

$45 right now on Amazon, but yeah, I want it in the $30's before I even consider it.

 

but what if they come out with the other 3 in a year or two and then you'd be stuck back tracking and paying over retail.

 

He's so close, and yet so far. I daresay a completely different core robot could've paid off, this one seems hampered by the engineering of the Siege figure. Don't get me wrong, Siege's core bot looked great, but he doesn't translate well to Earth Magnus. There's definitely not enough room in the budget to make a good-looking core for Magnus, nor is there enough to make a new set of armor for ER Prime, but still, it would've been nice. Commander's probably the best bet. Also, this is more of a minor nitpick, but they couldn't have extended the red paint on the big bot's chest down another 3 millimeters or so? The blue wrapping around at the bottom just looks weird.

 

Looks really nice, but not different enough that I can justify replacing a leader class toy.
