Fixed that for you, hope you don't mind. :)

Yes, all of the so called "Youth" versions of the XTB Stunticons are based on the original Toy deco's along with new toy based head sculpts.

So what are the odds the toy trailer sees a price increase due to the mini-car (if we get a mini-car that is)?

I was almost ready to jump ship on these guys but that toy MM is a thing of beauty.

    So, opinions sought.

I just received Overheat in the mail today. Got the entire lineup except Crackup and I'm really heavily leaning toward leaving the XTB in robot mode and displaying the DX9 in combined mode. But this raises an interesting dilemma: Where did everybody put the faction symbol on Overheat?

Assuming you're going off the cartoon-accurate look, his left shoulder isn't exactly a good spot for this on the figure given his tire-shoulders. I've seen people squeeze really small Decepticon logos on there and if push came to shove, I'd probably do just that. But does anyone have any better ideas?

What are the chances of that gravestone being silver rather than all grey plastic? Because I would kinda be down for him as a 1 off purchase of its silver...

Grey would be accurate to the toy though. I would imagine it's going to be grey plastic.

Very interesting. I'm really not liking the idea of using a logo so small that it fits on his shoulder, so I'm going to have to consider your approach here.

I feel like I've been waiting forever to see them make a nice toy-based Motormaster. This is sweet. :D

Yeah, but my counter point is, Grey plastic is ugly looking.

That and the closest thing they had to making it silver was grey plastic back then since they wouldn’t be able to paint it silver in the 80’s.

Counterpoint: Grey plastic can be "ugly" but it can also look great... like G1 Motormaster. He looks great in his original grey. :)

Personally, I prefer when the main colour of a figure is molded in the plastic itself. Painted details are nice but I always worry about transforming my fully painted figures. Coloured plastic makes for a more durable figure, imo... unless it's gold plastic from the 80s and 90s.

Well either way, if it’s grey plastic, I ain’t buying that. It’s almost always ugly looking, especially in the shade they are showing off here. If it’s silver, I’ll buy it.

I've been eyeing gravestone, and I just have a few questions about the set:
    1. Am I correct in understanding that it's possible to make the combined mode using just the trailer/upgrade kit? I'll be totally honest, I don't care about the team enough to buy them all, but if I can have menasor without needing the whole team i would very pleased.

    2. How is motormasters quality control? I heard that other members have issues. If there are problems, are they something that would be fixed on the G2 version, or are they inherent design flaws?

Dx9’s menasor atm is probably the only one you can buy 1 member of and have a standing menasor. This one most likely uses the 5 bots inside to secure it together. I imagine it would be fragile or floppy without them.

    1) from Ben’s review it sounds like you do need to combine Gravestone for figure balance and for panels to connect properly.

    2) my Gravestone has zero flaws, most I’ve heard have none. There’s a small number of people who have noted stress on the ab crunch connection, one person had breakage at the waist but not related to the ab crunch.

Personally I have had zero issues with any of the figures but like any company there are figures with defects and issues.

New Gravestone grey body doesn't bother me but I expected a young face, both for G1 toy memories and something different, but I begin to see good points, at least he's intimidating and is just as the old 80's package drawing, although I'd have preferred an heroic version more similar to Lonewolf.
