Man, he just doesn't look great. The combination of the premium-esque gold with the very cheap-looking neon yellow make for an odd-looking figure, not to mention that off-grey. He may be more accurate in model, but the consistency in the "cheapness" of Kingdom Cheetor's scheme honestly makes him look better overall to me. An inferior design, certainly, but the colors look better.

 

Could less effort have been put into this line? No consistent scale, poor articulation and accessories. Just, ugh.

 

Cheetor V1 didn’t have a creepy goblin face either, so the Kingdom toy is winning in that regard.

The Kingdom toy looks way better. The colours may not be accurate, but it at least looks nice. This is a double whammy, neither accurate nor appealing. RED Cheetor fails on every possible front.

Hmm, I think I can live with that face more than I can with the tail as a weapon. If any, I would rather to have the 1995 original toy. Or any of the variations.

 

I agree that Cheetor looks bad, and ended up canceling my pre-order after seeing these pictures. But I legitimately do not understand the complaints about the scale. Ths is a 6 inch scale line just like Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black, The Lightning Collection, and GI Joe Classified. The R.E.D. figures were always going to be roughly the same size as each other, with only a centimeter or two of difference at best. Just like all the other lines. I do not understand why this is such a shock to people. You should have understood this from the start.

If you disagree with the choice, that's fine, but understand this line was never going to have a sense of scaling.

And since the Action Masters comparison gets brought up, I would like to remind people that the AM line had Devastator, Megatron, and Bumblebee all the same size as each other too.

 

Yeah....this line is going to end before I get an Alpha Trion.

At first I thought RED will be look like some high-end collectibles figure like Star Wars Black series, but is just some badly paint and sometimes badly sculpted figuresd which literally look like some cheap knockoff.

 

I cancelled my Cheetor preorder. I bought the thing because I thought the paint job would be nice, but if they're just going to go with plain bright plastic that's as ugly as a figure that actually transforms and is priced at the same level, then I don't really know what the hell market they're going for here.

cheetor had a tail whip, yeah it was his transmetal form but the kingdom figure aint even cartoon accurate to begin with

 

I feel really bad for the people who hoped that RED Cheetor would be better than Kingdom Cheetor, because this release is just almost there. Same with the Netflix Cheetor. All his figures are almost there but fail in some regard.

Honestly, I’m only going to buy Arcee and Knockout. Arcee is actually looking very good, with the exception of the dark energon cube which was rarely, if ever seen, and which I think either a designated dark energon shard or a light blue cube would be better. Hoping Knockout will be really good.

 

I'd love to know what they were using as a reference for this figure, because they may need to get their eyes checked.

literally all they have to do is take the mp design, get rid of all the transforming engineering and make it smaller. they kinda did that with the first three (except those sucked for other reasons) but with cheetor they just gave up and made whatever the hell this piece of shit is

 

Cheetor is oddly painted.

 

I actually like the design of the body. But the face, the neon yellow and the back kibble all make him not very appealing.

 

Because it was his main weapon in that body? Rattrap has his gun, Primal has his arm blasters, Blackarachnia has her gun.

Really, dude? It's clearly meant to be a modern take on his season 1 body, which used a gun. (two guns, actually) Every other character has their on-screen weapon.

Cheetor hardly even used the whip in his Transmetal body, he mostly just shot energy from his beast mouth/hands.
