That’s perfectly ok, and completely understandable. He is an entertainer, and if it doesn’t entertain you, there’s no reason for you to watch his videos. There are plenty of other excellent reviewers out there, as you mentioned.

I do think, however, you may have read too deep into the “theme” of that video. It comes across, in my opinion, as Jobby satirically portraying the “nerd misogynist” trope, and it is, in my opinion, an entertaining, but satirical take on the subject matter. I do think if someone was to take Jobby’s gags as a legitimate role model and treat women in a certain way, that speaks more to them missing the entire point of the video, which was to criticize and make fun of that portion of the community, while also providing entertainment about a... uniquely-stylized third party figure.

I also think he did still did do a good job of evaluating the figure, as his review convinced me that even without the unique-stylization of this figure, it’s still a damn nice transforming piece. If someone tackled a similar design of similar build quality that was.... less-stylized I would definitely consider relapsing into collecting for one.

Regarding the “smashing fist” incident, I do think the comedy of that scene is not “hahahah he’s gunna hit a woman” but more like “hahah look at this loser misogynist who objectifies women”. Again, to each their own, I suppose.

Jobby has a Q&A/BTS vod of his Nicee review. youtu.be/5TXxXV8-uJQ

I haven’t watched all of it, but he does convey the thought process and meaning of the various parts of the video.

He has also said many times that he is playing multiple characters, including the reviewer, and there is some long running plot arc and through line.

In his most recent live stream review of the Kingdom figures, he mentions that the Kingdom stream was not canonical in the ‘Jobby-verse.’

Now I know there's different ways of showing "Self-Deprecation". But since you like to use that word so much I just have to mention: Jobby is the most self-deprecating Toy-Reviewer I have come across. About 80% of his Videos revolve around him creating caricature personas to drag himself through the mud. I guess that can be interpreted as being egocentric, but I can't fathom how anyone would get the idea that he's full of himself from watching his videos. Quite the opposite, sometimes I'm worried the guy may be too hard on himself.

And secondly, I'm sorry, but reading your posts is a little infuriating. You clearly just don't vibe with Jobbys style and that's okay, but going so far as to try and justify your distaste by interpreting a toy review as hateful against women....

I'm at a loss of words.

MP51 is so good. Nicee is a great figure but she does in no way detract from the gorgeousness that is Arcee

I actually decided to put the dude on ignore because he was coming off as a self righteous ass.

If said person is actually reading this, go watch other reviewers and stop making claims against reviewers you disagree with. You think Jobby doesn’t have other shit to deal with behind the scenes? You think that he’s the worst person on the planet for jokes you decide was too offensive for people who most likely wouldn’t give his videos the time of day? I’m disgusted at what looks like an attack on Jobby to spread hate on him on the Internet. How ‘bout you confront Jobby himself on why the video is so offensive. Maybe making accusations in front of people isn’t good for people who are having depression like Jobby sometimes has.

If you want to vent about how I’m a coward to not talk to you in person or how Jobby sucks, go ahead. I don’t even want to see your profile pic in my face here.

I’m super glad you enjoy her my friend, but just because Takara’s label is on the box, doesn’t make it any kind of nice or special to me.

There is plenty of official figures I like. There are official figures I like better than their 3P counterparts as well — however I bend over backwards for no one single company; and if I think something looks like shite, well, I’ll state my opinion on it.

I wouldn’t care if 3P, Takara or men from Mars made the official Arcee - she looks absolutely horrendous to me.

If it isn’t the humongous backpack, it’s the weird alien looking face. If it isn’t the face, it’s the terrible chest. If it isn’t the chest, it’s the terribly long collar piece. If it isn’t the collar piece, it’s her mumps/club looking clogs that are her feet; and if it isn’t the feet, it’s her goofy, bloated toon accurate alt mode.

It’s just too too much. I have negative desire to ever own the figure. If it were given to me, I’d donate it.

But again. I’m very glad you enjoy it and hope you continue to do so.

For what it's worth, having owned MP-51 for a couple of weeks now, I very much like her more than Nicee. However, I also like Nicee very much and would place them #3 and #4 on my personal 2020 official/3P Transformers list. I get the critiques on MP-51, but when I look at it, she just looks great and is just a very solid toy. Nicee looks great too but doesn't feel quite as solid in hand and there's a reason why so many of us are after an Arcee head for Nicee. Nicee stands like a mofo though, which is still extremely impressive given her own big backpack and very small foot print. I'm just glad to finally have not one but two great Arcees in my collection now.

Opinions opinions. I don’t care who’s name is on the box it’s fantastic in hand. I didn’t think it would be all that, I bought it cause it was Arcee. Having it in your hand makes a difference

Nicee arrived today, after several months.

Paint is fantastic, one of the best-painted 3P figures I own. Articulation is dubious, and transformation could have been better (particularly the legs) but the alt mode is alright, I guess? I have a vehement dislike for partsforming and she is a big offender since almost the entire rear of the car forms the shield.

Her left leg tends to fall off when posing/transforming. I would also have liked the face to be more angular, although I'm perfectly fine with it not being Arcee as she will act as a generic Caminoan on my IDW shelf.

    same here.

Though... The most recent silhouette of their "windblade" looks drastically different from the original concept the showed. The silhouette now looks nothing like windbland and looks more like a geisha in a kimono carrying folding fans. Not that the original concept they started with was very clear. All I can say, is it looks like their design has drastically changed and will probably not resemble windblade at all.

I've no interest what so ever in their henshin girls. I really hate chibi designs... period. But that is just me. I know people like them and good on them. While their Firebird Bird of Dawn Kalavinka is cool and gives off heavy Macross vibes... I already collect way too much stuff and have to keep my collection scope narrow. It's cool but outside of my collecting range.

For those still looking for a more G1-esque head option, looks like Flame Toys is potentially moving forward on a Furai Model (their Plamo line) version :https://twitter.com/flametoys_staff/status/1349567353709707266?s=19

While still a ways out, I think this should be a pretty compatible style that a swap with Nicee may be possible.

Yeap I was thinking the same thing, but apparently the scale size works differently between Firebird and Flame toys. Flame toys model kit line is 1 head smaller than Firebird Nicee.

I'm not so sure the scale will be that far off, though. Nicee is pretty leggy.

I'm sure we'll get a better sense of how the parts size up when Windblade comes out.

I dunno, if it's the same scale as their Windblade model, she's only going to be between 5 and 6 inches and Nicee is actually larger than MP scale so it would seem unlikely.
That said, I'll get the figure for its own merits.

Yeah, again, it's hard to tell for certain until we at least get Windblade in our hands to see what sort of scale they're shooting for. The Flametoys/Ban design seems to have a slightly bigger head, proportionately, than Nicee. Plus the FT kits don't really follow any sort of consistent scale, anyways. They might wind up being a bit larger/taller than some of the previous kits, just so that the more intricately layered design elements of Windblade don't wind up too small and fragile.

I still think Windblade will slightly smaller if FlameToys follow their own model kit scales which I own most of it. In the mean time we just have to wait and see FlameToys release more info about Windblade.

Hi. Sorry for reviving a dead thread but had a question and didn't know where else to ask. Does anyone know how to take apart the upper legs? One of my pistons came misassembled, the pegs aren't sitting in the holes so it is just loose in there. I assume it is glued shut as I can't see any screws/pins anywhere

Inner thigh pieces are glued plastic pieces, not sure if a hairdryer would help with easing the process, but for me I pried them open slowly and damaged the edges slightly. Once you got the inner thigh pieces off the screws are there.
