    Hello,

I recently purchased a Titans Return Bumblebee toy off eBay, and I suspect it may be counterfeit. It feels very flimsy, and the card that came with it appears to be printed on a different material to the other cards I have. In addition, the 'roof' section appears to be a different shade of yellow to the rest of the body:

Is there any way to check the authenticity of this?

I don't believe there was ever a bootleg of that figure.
I know that the difference in shades of yellow has to do with the body/limbs being CAST in yellow plastic, but the roof being PAINTED yellow. (I hate it when they try to match the paint to the plastic and it doesn't work).

Ah OK, that's interesting. It feels quite flimsy compared to all the other Titans Return figures I have (at least when they are new), but if that's just the way it is then that's fine.

Paint not matching probably points more to Hasbro than pointing to a KO company.

Truth. Hasbro is probably the worst of all toy-making companies at this.

Your description matches the figure I bought from Target years ago. It’s not one of Hasbro’s better figures.

The Mattel Jurassic World toys have the same problem. The colossal T.rex for example have different materials, and the colors are off. Also feels like they gave up painting the figure towards the tail. Very similar to the crap from Hasbro's line.

Looking at the Kingdom BW Megatron, his paint job is infinitely better than even Mattel's T.rex.

I've seen the same being said about the Piranacons and if I remember correctly, there was no proof they were KO's either, possibly rejects was mentioned or just poorly released production runs. I've bought those Piranacons and didn't notice a difference but I never owned the official so I only had reviewers to go by and previous Hasbro products.

Doesn't Earthrise Sunstreaker have the same mismatching paint issues too?

I will have to give the JP/JW toys a closer look next time I go shopping. If they're worse than Hasbro TF stuff----ouch.

The sculpting is NOWHERE near as bad as Hasbro. That said, the paint not matching the different parts can be seen in some figures. The Mattel line is so weird, great sculpting, but weird design choices.

Yup. It’s the Hasbro version. I have both the TR and Legends, and the TR one has that bad yellow contrast, where the Legemds version isn’t nearly as bad.
