Good news! I got a status update from HK post saying that it has been handed over to the carrier and left for destination, Here I thought I might wait a long while till she gets here lmao
Nah, registered air mail parcel because I didn't really look at the shipping differences until after I made my pre-order, but hey! Next best thing?
Depends on what country but the top heap is supposed to be EMS (DHL muuuuuuuucho better and pricey). Air Parcel was okay, pre C19 which I always used but then you know what happened.
Yeah, considering the constant garbage Hong kong had to deal with last year it's honestly understandable. As for Arcee I might guess that she might arrive a week or two from now, (they didn't specify the arrival time so I'm just estimating based from what I've read)
That being the case, how fast your Postal ships and how strict the government handles the entry of goods due to the 3rd(?) C19 wave. Good luck and enjoy her once she arrives. Imho, worth the wait.
Getting kind of worried of this stress mark. Doesn't look too deep but my MPM Ironhide had a similar type on his back and it came smooth off. Does anyone else have stress on these hinges?
Yeah, it's always a surprise to me just how much I miss the mark on my first attempt at anything 3d printed. It's why I post screenshots asking for feedback because I really seem to suck at spotting just how much I suck. Still trying, though. Attempt number two was better and almost fit into the head correctly and I've gone back and done another round of tweaks but it was too late in the day for printing so attempt number three will be printed tomorrow. I'm feeling good about this one. It does but those were some pretty serious errors. I had to bring in a human headsculpt I did a while back and stick it next to my Arcee sculpt to finally see what was so wrong with it. Turns out I had her lips just kind of slapped onto her face instead of actually integrating into the contours of the face like lips actually do. I guess the robotic thing was throwing me off. They're a lot of fun but also a lot of work. Fdm prints can only get so good in quality due to the way they work (though they can get a lot better than most people think if you know what you're doing) and require a lot of post processing. Resin printers can get so much better in quality but the handling and cleanup of the resin is kind of a pain. Still, these days they're not terribly expensive. You can get a decent one for just a few hundred dollars: not much more than a modern masterpiece figure.
