I just watched an episode the other night where Donatello becomes Batman, lol. They even managed to sneak in a joke about copyright infringement too.

It's the one with the blink and you miss it appearance of the Triceratons -- "Night Of The Dark Turtle" -- which aired in 1993 right around the time BTAS was a massive hit, which is probably why I missed it growing up.

(Also, damn these dvds are really out of order episode wise according to the wiki)

EDIT: Splinter's sword and flame effect comes from the "Sword of Yurikawa" episode.

I found a complete set of the original toon on DVD on Amazon for, like, $45...am curious as to the quality, though. I did some searching, and while you can buy each season individually, it would likely cost me more for the first 3 seasons buying them individually vs. just getting that complete set.

Picked up the massive "purple" super shelled 23 disc release from Amazon myself, for just a bit over $20, but this was during a sale months ago.

Quality is pretty much a straight from VHS to DVD transfer throughout, with a couple of episodes (not many, mind you) having that good old VHS "blur" effect on the side of the screen where the tape had clearly warped from usage over time. I remember the Turtle Van release being really expensive a long time ago, which is why I didn't bother then. Mind you, I had already picked up the G.I.Joe series in the "foot locker" packaging, and G1 Transformers with the pull-apart Matrix style cardboard, so clearly I didn't think TMNT was worth going the extra mile back then! :lol

I think the larger purple clamshell release like I have is also available at retail outlets too... pretty sure @Bryan Thornton posted a pic many many pages back during one of his pickup runs at Wal-Mart or Target?

EDIT: here's a list of episodes, broken down by season and whether they were syndicated or otherwise -- List of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) episodes

There are a few on YouTube and I think you can rent/buy digital on Amazon as well...but I’d rather own disks, honestly.

I should say that the large majority of episodes watched so far have really sharp picture and audio, barring some sound mixing issues in later episodes were the music and SFX tend to overlap with dialogue making it difficult to hear certain lines. No subtitles on anything, obviously.

And a lot of the quickly produced episodes (mostly in season 3 and the Vacation in Europe ones, a few in season 4 -- usually the syndication eps are rougher, while the Sat AM ones are better about characters being on model and have richer colors, for instance) have a lot of muddy colors and questionable anatomy, perspective, errors... that sort of thing. In a largely visual medium and with an adult's discerning eye, you tend to notice these things quicker.

Got your tracking info and it says it should be here by Saturday!!

Traffic jam had me veer off the quick path home and found these...

Sorry for the blurry pic, but wanted to get an extra set in case of any QC issues and get out the store, as I already heard a guy in the marvel/TF aisle on the phone talking about gi Joe's he couldn't find as he was rummaging through that area.

Also saw on the other side of that collectible row these...

I'm thinking they made way more of the krang sets than the typical 2packs, so forunately I think more people will be able to secure him. It would've been nice if they did the same for metalheads, as I still haven't gotten one.

11 of them. Seems they certainly made the krang and Splinter Baxter pack in greater numbers. The problem is or seems to be they sent large numbers of them to a few spots rather than a few to a large number of spots. So distribution was still not right, though for some these were easier to obtain.

Jesus! That’s a lot of Krangs. I wish I knew how NECA/Target decide how many of each item to send to each store... As far as I know, my local store only recieved 6 Krangs and zero Splinters. Every NECA TMNT item that store has received sells out within 24 hours. It is a busy and highly populated area as well.

Thank you to @redrum2581 for coming through with this two pack!! He was highly responsive, shipped it fast, and packed it VERY well!! I was THIS CLOSE to quitting the line to the point of selling everything except for my SDCC sets 'cause it's been so exhausting, but he pulled me right back so thank you for that too! Lol! I can see why people like this two pack the best. It definitely has the best accessories.

Baxter is one of the best figures in the whole line, IMO. He’s such an ugly pathetic little creep I feel sorry for him, and he has great balance due to his size.

Good to know. Hoping I get a shipping notification/tracking number for this one. My T&R order still says 'unfulfilled' on my account and I've had them for a month! :D
