No release date yet, he doesnt go live til next week. My guess he's we see him around august or September. They could definitely put Skywarp out before a full year has passed. Hopefully this means another decepticon may be in the queue....wait a minute TC in his pose from his initial appearance,Hound reissue,.....MP Mirage confirmed.

So it looks like less faces than Starscream. No flight stand (which is very odd). No Megatron gun or other accessories (fine with me). And most interesting to me is that the engine effect parts are not purple this time which is awesome. But I wish that would have been consistent across all the seekers. So because there are less accessories and no flight stand should we assume the price will be lower? I was actually very happy with the price on Starscream so if this one is a bit lower that will be even better. I'm also shocked that we are getting so many G1 MP releases this year. Especially with the BW anniversary.

Anyway I'm very happy because Thundercracker is my favourite seeker and TT are pumping out the jets much faster than I expected!

So besides the obvious Reflector and maybe Soundwave anybody else we can tie TC too. Feels like they threw him out way too soon unless they were planning a WF reveal. Seems less like a, "we need to fill this spot", but more of a, "ah I see".
Phamduc mentioned it should be a fun year, I'm guessing the best hasnt been revealed yet, but he also said it will be divisive.

Hard to imagine more gravy on this biscuit, but I guess possible. Does it finally happen this year where we finally check one of those names off the MP bucket list like Jazz or Galvatron.

 

The one thing I'm worried about is, will he be a TTM exclusive, and be around the same price as 'Screamer, though with fewer accessories.

 

It's less of an issue if Hasbro does like it did with spinout $114 US versus 15000 yen or $145 in Japan.

 

Curious as to what this means. Not sure what the choices are for. Maybe characters, design, schedule, or exclusivity? We're going to love it, but also be divided? My guess would be the characters chosen.

 

Fandom would be part of the question. Is it divide for people on board with what TT is doing like more hybrid. Or decisive for this board and fandom in general like Arcee's reveal, My guess TT will do things their way, like a lilac Galvatron 

Might start setting aside some money to buy a gift card or two, I imagine it might be a flurry of activity and it would be nice to pay some stuff off in advance.

 

Going by the various reactions to him, maybe Skids is the aforementioned "divisive" character.

Of course, I'm sitting here absolutely loving the 2021 MP lineup, so far.

 

I wouldn't mind a "Hybrid" Skids even as a toon accurate guy as he had much more presence as a toy than he ever did in the cartoon. However I would be a bit irked if I got Skids and they turned around with a Skids+ further down the line.

 

Don't think it's Skids, Phamduc knows his stuff, does sound like they'll be more than one release. What we know so far would be a good year,but it sounds like there's more to come

 

You would think selling separate accessory packs would be an acceptable compromise, but x-transbots has been practically crucified for going that route with their Menasor. It's apparently a no-win situation. As a guy who likes to take pics, I love all the accessories I can get but I don't care if they come with the character or are sold separately as long as they are available to me.

I'm hoping that Skids is the most divisive Transformers decision of 2021. I must admit I am very on the fence about him. I understand that his cartoon model is troublesome to recreate as a toy but the line art with the "not from toon OR toy" random greebles doesn't do much for me. The decision will be made for me when the painted prototype shows up. Will Skids paint job more closely adhere to the philosophy of MP-18 or that of MP-18+? If it's the latter, I will likely pick him up. If it's the former, I am much less likely. A lot will come down to if his face is silver or if it is grey/white. In any case I both hope and expect that he is a one-off and that the rest of the so-far unmade carbots will be more of a match for the super-poseable cartoon aesthetic.

Either way, Starscream and Thundercracker in 2021, nice! Hopefully Skywarp will be early 2022 to complete the trio!

 

Eh, there is another divisive, there's already 3P options available, and for it to be bad it's most likely some stuff FT has done. First thing off off my head is:

• Galvatron
• Mirage
• Grimlock
• Seaspray(seriously)
• Jazz
• Trailbreaker
• Cyclonus
• Kup
• Huffer

Galvatron, Cyclonus and Trailbreaker would probably be the most divisive. Not just because of multiple 3P options, but also how Takara would potentially color them.

 

The most divisive thing I can think of is doing a character who should be licensed, who won't be. An unlicensed Cliffjumper? Or dare we go back to the early Earthrise days when some of us thought Mitsubishi was taking Porsche's place?

 

He said fandom, which I took to mean places like here. We're probably in the minority of licenses being a big deal, so while it would be a eeeh? for us, as long as Jazz looked close enough and the bot mode was spot on most people really wouldnt care. Seeing how ugly official threads have gotten lately, I'd imagine hes saying be prepared for that. All the money people have spent on their Galvatrons and Dinobots, I'd imagine it would be a sh!tstorm of justifications if Takara revealed either one.

Or Takara could be like sike and announce Superion or Menasor.....with an unlicensed Wildrider
