You'd think they'd have learned their lesson after TFTM. Although I guess that didn't hurt them too much in TF Prime.

 

IDK how I feel about this but tempted to get it for more Barricade.

I'm in a similar boat except I don't even care for a better painted Earthrise Barricade, just one that isn't lumped with a redundant toy.

Considering they've made two toys based on Optimus dying in that film yeah I think they did learn their lesson and that lesson is that people will buy this.

 

They haven't put the Dull Surprise face on a dead Starscream just yet.

Tigatron would always be a Voyager if they're going for show accurate sizes.
As for who goes where in what wave, it's not really relevant where Selects and exclusives are concerned. Just because Polar Claw's not in the leaked releases for normal waves doesn't mean he won't show up.

I agree. The mold itself isn't the greatest, and it's been as overused as many Seeker molds.

 

It's still an arguably better mold than the Earthrise one. The Netflix version is my go-to. I only have the ER mold because of the G2 version, otherwise, I'd have skipped him completely.

 

What? Hasbro is so odd with these releases. They sell (arguably) weaker versions of a figure and they expect us to buy better versions in multipacks, with figures we don't want?

Haven't they learnt anything from their poor sales of the clones/G2 Laser Optimus Prime, etc?

I suppose the rusty Barricade could serve as one of the victims of Megatron's mass spark extraction in a Beast Machines collection, given that most of the offline Cybertronians in the show used the Datsun body type. I don't really have any ideas on where Paleotrex could fit in, but the translucent purple plastic looks neat, so there's that.

1. Hasbro not wasting a mold because they can't make entirely new molds every 24 seconds new molds And figures are planned a year in advance from design Sketches to molding and manufacturing taking place later in time. Studio Series waves get planned a year in advance Etc.

2. More variety for collectors. Hey if you don't want the retail version of Cheetor here's a version with darker blue resembling his 90's Toy Colors
And here's a clear plastic Paleotrex if your into clear plastic. Purely just more variety and Hasbro milking molds as they usually do.

 

Yup, which is why I think it's possible Kingdom does an alternate take on BW where G1 Megatron takes on the t-rex beast mode rather than another Predacon who takes his name as an honorary title.
