Hasbro Pulse pisses me off. They cancelled my order without notice, and when I talked to their customer service, I was told once something has been cancelled you're out of luck. I mean, really? When I worked for customer service at a different company, an accidental cancellation could be resolved by making a new order for the customer, and you attach the previous order # to it. Why is this so difficult to do?
Sitting on a bunch of Christmas money and gift cards and everything I have been trying to order for months is STILL only available at scalper prices! Every single exclusive sells out in seconds online and hours in stores. Target website FINALLY showed limited stock on Thrust at my local store today but when I got there there were literally no Transformers but all of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line EXCEPT the one I might have actually bought! Checked Walmart while I was out: 3 Netflix Wheeljacks and 6 Grapples.
Well for one thing ... Not to mention that a lot of people DO like toy aesthetics, or a blend of toy and toon. You prefer "show accurate"; don't presume your preferences are held by everyone. I bought like 8 ER figures last year because the Sunbow-ness made them boring as heck to me. They were featured in the comics, though. You know, the ORIGINAL Transformers universe? The cartoon is not the only TF medium; the others are just as valid, and for others may actually be more important. While Buster & Hydra carry more weight to me as well, it makes perfect sense for Hasbro to release the molds as the versions that were actually featured in western media. I wouldn't object to Selects recolors, though. Me, I just call Dreadwind and Darkwing Buster & Hydra ... Buzzworthy is in stores? TO THE GEEKMOBILE!
This has been a consistent trend with Titan figures. They’re hard to come by, they skyrocket in price, they get a rerun, and then there’s too much stock so they end up dirt cheap. High demand and low stock is going to lead to a high price, as was the case with Omega Supreme. They’re not doing anything wrong. If you want it now, you can pay their prices and have a 99% chance of getting the figure, or you can take your chances with a Chinese eBay seller and hope you receive it. BBTS does the same thing. At the end of the day use your money as you want. The figure will most likely get a rerelease next year, and then the price will go back down.
I like some from each for Computron. I prefer UW Strafe, but like that CW Strafe allows Scrounge to be a part of Computron. I like the toy color orange of CW Afterburner. For the rest I prefer UW, I just wish Nosecone was actual toy colors instead of catalog toy color.
It would be a figure that does not have the benefit and added play value of a headmaster. A regular figure as in a lesser figure, yes.
I miss everyone being a Headmaster, too. It added extra fun to the toys. My young cousins were very disappointed when we stopped getting figures with detachable, transformable heads as well.
Hah! So I'm not alone, then. I bought that set and slapped the PE kit on it and I'm happy. Bought a G1 rifle for Scattershot for better looks/accuracy and consider it a done deal. I'd probably buy the UW if they reissued it, but I'm in no hurry either way and the aftermarket is ridiculous. A lot of places/people are doing that. It's insane how expensive Titans have become with time. I remember a time when some of us thought "Nah, it's too big, the price is too much. These will never sell." lol how wrong we were. Looks like people DO like big bots and they cannot lie.
I like both. It’s great to compare and contrast. It’s why I miss having the separate Takara decos and why I welcome the recent Abominus from them. Variety is the spice of life.
Have you ever had a reply to one of your comments that both agreed and disagreed with you at the same time? I just had to leave it alone. Who knows what rabbit hole I would have fallen into if I had responded. But anyway, toy rant! I got the Kingdom core, deluxe, and voyagers recently, and when I first transformed them, they were not fun. They've gotten better with each transformation and I actually like how Blackarachnia turns into a spider, but Primal, oh boy Primal. Pulling his back out has given me no end of grief. It was super tight to start with and while it had gotten looser, not by much. For Cyclonus, when I turn him into jet mode, the parts that connect to his chest don't fold down all the way in vehicle mode. Not sure if what I said makes sense, but I'm trying to see if there's a special way of getting them to sit flush to the fuselage, or if that's just the way it is. Not a huge deal, but it would be cool if I could get it done. Other than that, they're good, and I can't wait for wave 2!
The Alt modes for the Kingdom Fossilizers could have been better. Having them be exclusively Dinosaurs, let alone the same damn Cretaceous Trio, didn’t help either. I don’t see why another Pterodactyl would be chosen for a Smilodon, who we have yet to get a proper Transformer of, If it also meant getting cheated out of a new Terrorsaur figure. Would have preferred something like a Stegosaurus or a Mammoth that would have added more to the weapons aspect of the gimmick. Its not the 80s or 90s, kids have much more exposer to different species of prehistoric animals now.
How do you guys deal with fear of missing out? The later half of 2020 has been terrible for me as a collector. I missed Ironhide/Prowl 2 pack, elite Seeker 2 packs, wave 3 earthrise, netflix soundwave and elita 1 (no longer imported to my country, skipped straight to wfc kingdom) and other stuffs. I’m this close to completing my CHUG G1 roaster, but it felt to me like these essentials characters were release all at the same time when life is confusing for me and they were just gone in one instant. I am frustrated. I am quite sure that high-yield characters like the coneheads and prowl and ironhide will be re-released eventually but I can’t help but feel so anxious. Does anyone share the same feeling? How do you deal with it?
I've dealt with it by giving up. If it's an exclusive, I just assume up front I'll never get my hands on it. Then I get to be pleasantly surprised if I ever happen upon one. I have no idea how I managed to stumble my way into a Netflix Soundwave. Haven't managed to get a single other Netflix exclusive.
FOMO is a real thing especially with such limited production and increased demand. I only started collecting Masterpiece a couple of years ago, and now I have to really scrutinize and make tough decisions based on my budget. For instance, I'm already 3 FT Stunticons in, but really want to pick up the restock of MMC Furor and Riot at TFSource. They'll be sold out one day but I just can't justify the expense of it when I'm already getting FT Dragstrip this month. Remember the days when releases sat around at retailers for months? Sigh.
Went to Target. I saw $22.68 for Kingdom Deluxe, $33.68 Voyager, $55 Leader. They are still $20 online, but now that we are in January, the automatic yearly price increase is going in effect. I expect that price to be standard everywhere by the end of February. At that price point, I am officially out. $25 with tax for a figure the size of Warpath is criminal.
