Awesome pics! Any joints or parts you think someone should be worried about in terms of tolerances, etc?

The finger joints are a bit too tight. Especially on his right hand. I don't know if they'll break but I'd advise caution.
Other than that everything is solid.

Man, he does look good with other IDW CHUG figures in MMC Reformatted line. I was thinking of just waiting for a sale since several PX figures tend to go on sale eventually on BBTS, but I might not want to risk it this time...

Okay, here are all my thoughts after messing with him for a while:
The robot mode is perfect. This is one of the prettiest and the most articulated PX figure I have. The transformation is average for a Planet X release, so some parts are a bit fiddly, but it's not overly complex. The alt mode had me a bit worried, but it looks way better (and bigger) in person than it did in photos. And white the alt mode isn't completely game accurate, I definitely consider it close enough. Overall, he is one of PX's best releases so far and I absolutely recommend him.

Also, I noticed that there is a peg on the wings that allows you to combine them, which isn't used in either mode. Probably for a secret gun mode, even know he is a bit too small for that.

I too was going to wait for a discount, but once the painted shots came out, I could not resist.

Planet X is weird to me - like some companies are fairly consistent in what I get (G-Creations has incredible sculpt and articulation with frustrating transformations and questionable plastic, MMC has sturdy plastic with little paint and great engineering, making them fun to fiddle with except for a few exceptions, Generation Toy has my favorite engineering by far for their non-combiner releases though sometimes at the cost of sculpt), but Planet X has some highs and low lows. I got their Starscream, Perceptor and Ratchet on sale and I feel like they're barely worth the discounted price. The engineering is questionable and the plastic often feels thin or brittle (though not as bad as G-Creations). But then I have Vulcun, Ismenios and Kadmos which rarely (if ever) go on sale and they're some of my favorite releases regardless of company with great sculpt and intuitive transformations. It looks like Shockwave is in that second group thankfully and he'll look great with other IDW figures to boot.

Hm, I think we'll have to disagree about MMC. Their first edition of Vos is known to crumble (literally) after a while. I can't recall any PX figures doing that. The plastics and overall QC on their Jaegertron/Cyclonus mould is also not very good. If you go to their Insecticons thread, there's quite a few reports of shoddy QC as well.

All I am trying to say is that each company has produced figures of questionable quality. MMC also has never done any Reformatted figure at the size of PX Omega Supreme and Trypticon, and everyone here who owns those will be able to attests to their quality.

Speaking about G-Creations, their Bayverse Grimlock has been very well received and people have said that it's VERY different from previous G-Creations figures. Good transformation and plastics.

Hm, actually you're right. There are certain molds I'm not a fan of with MMC, though they tend to be the older ones (Vos, Azalea and Seraphicus Prominion armor set come to mind). After that era, I think the only mold I disliked was Boreas/Anubis and maybe Nickel; all other ones have been fun to mess with. I guess I can only speak from my own experience, but with 6 PX molds, 3 G-Creation molds and about 14 or 16 MMC molds, MMC has been the most consistent to me, while P-X has been split in the middle. Then again, I never had their Trypticon or Omega Supreme so it's good to know those are of superb quality.

Good to know about G-Creation Wrath as well - it looks pretty nice though I have no attachment to movie figures so I never got it. One of my good friends says it's his favorite figure of 2020 though so that's saying a lot.

    Thanks for these.
What a beautiful figure. I too, was going to wait for a sale, but may not be able to hold out for long. Just looks great and would fit perfectly in my collection as a CHUG Shockwave.

    So pretty,

Looking at him on his own, he doesn't feel like he adds all that much. And then I check out the direct comparison and two thoughts arise: how much the generations one lacked and how much it really succeeded compared to other toys of the time.

He'll always have more pink than this one.

Curious to see how his head is assembled and if it'd be possible to 3D print and yellow eye.

The main head is just made of two pieces (that are surprisingly easy to take apart).

The eye itself seems to plug into the world's smallest peg hole. I don't have anything that is both long and thin enough to get it out so I hope this gets the idea across.

Wow. Thanks for that. I guess I'll need to see for myself if I have anything small enough to get it out.

Or, y'know... Just not worry about it and stick with the purple eye lol

    I would prefer a non-permanent solution.
