I'm still curious to see what, if any, engineering Tigatron will share with Cheetor. He's probably my most anticipated figure of the year and I can't wait to see what he looks like

Scale has always been a big factor in pricing. It continues that way with Kingdom and it won’t be going away anytime soon.

3P won’t be an impact since I’ve been many figures in the Generations line being bought. Hasbro Pulse has been opened for people to have another chance at exclusive figures. So there’s plenty to go around in First Party. Earthrise and Kingdom have been great so far

I’ll be looking forward to Galvatron. If Cyclonus is any indication, should he really good.

Happily is a strong word. I'd say more begrudgingly than anything. I really don't want to drop $20 for Cliffjumper or $30 for Hot Rod, but they fall somewhere within the realm of reluctant acceptability.

When masterpiece prices kept jacking up, most were reluctant to pay, with a few happy to be paying that new hike. After Prime 3.0, I’ll wait for price drops. I’m tired of those sky high prices. But Cyclonus as a Voyager for $30? Hasn’t that been common the last maybe 5 years?

Why is it so hard for some people to understand that with figures like Cliffjumper and Hot Rod, you really are getting your money's worth? It's just that the figure is more compact, less hollow, comes with more accessories, and is more complex than the larger figures in their size class. I would go so far as to say I'd rather that be the new way of doing business, with all the size classes downsized to allow for a superior figure.

Yes. And they will be in this WFC trilogy. Leader class Galvatron will scale with the rest. He’ll either have complex engineering or a number of accessories that will add additional value to the price point.

People need to get over this sense of the classifications as a height. Those days are behind us.

While I agree with the others that figure class does not equate to figure size.
At the same time no legends or core class will be larger than a Deluxe and no commander will be as small as a Deluxe or Voyager, and no titan will ever be smaller than a leader - however big or small a leader turned out to be.

I look forward to Voyager with Parts at Double the Price Galvatron.

We all knew it was coming. It's like anti-news.

Guys, I know I'm already late in this and all but given how scale back then even in the show was like all over (and if Hb/Takara will be true to the show scale) but iirc, unless it too was just due to perspective of the scene in TFTM 1986, just before Galvatron gave his "bad comedy" dig at 'screamer, there was a shot where Cyclonus towered over his boss. Since I don't have the latest Cyclonus yet (Voyager?), could this new Galvatron be well, the same height/scale with Cyclonus?

And,unless I read/heard it wrong (correct me please), Rodimus is Commander sized(?), would that not automatically make Galvatron the same size then? Siege Jetfire is Commander class then if so, both Galvatron and Rodimus being that tall, they'll be dwarfing the default Optimus height?

This. You couldn’t achieve SS Hot Rod’s level of sophistication on a deluxe budget. I will gladly pay voyager pricing and get a better figure instead of a deluxe with compromises.

Same goes with WFC Cliff and Bee. I prefer to pay deluxe and get more sophistication. I personally usually disliked and skipped most figures that were smaller then a deluxe because they just weren’t appealing to me.

I also understand some fans feel the opposite and prefer lower prices even if you get some compromises. There’s no “right” or “wrong” just preference. But I do think it’s unfair to say you don’t get more when “smaller” figures are in a higher price point.

Maybe that is Hasbro reacting to 3P. They see fans buying more expensive 3P (deluxe size figs at leader or commander prices) and their reaction is: “Fans want quality over price?” Maybe that’s what they’re thinking.

As has been said many times over at this point (not a dig at you, just this comes up a lot haha), Price Point does not equal size. Look at Cliffjumper, Wheeljack and Ironhide. They're all deluxes but vary greatly in size. Look at SS86 Hot Rod, Kingdom Optimus Primal and Cyclonus. All voyagers but they vary in size (both Hot Rod and Primal are deluxe sized). Look at ER Optimus Prime and Doubledealer. Both Leaders but they vary in size. A Commander Class Rodimus Prime is not going to be massive in bot mode compared to his contemporaries.

Pretty much. Imagine a solid bot mode, no gaps, good engineering and in the appropriate scale with a fully decked out trailer (unlike Optimus, where one of the biggest complaints was that his trailer was too small and that it was a relatively hollow box)

The other thing Rodimus being a Commander likely contributes to is his "cab" being something more fleshed out rather than a repeat of his G1 "alt."
