Saw a seller with a literal case of Cobra Troopers asking for more than $600. They had a "best offer" option so I offered $1 just to flip them the figurative bird. For anyone confused by that, let me repeat: they had a literal factory case of figures. Figures that, if everyone's playing by the rules, should ONLY be available first-come/first-served from the shelves. Having an entire case should be impossible. Hence, fuck that guy.
Yup, the newer trooper does not have them...tbh I was originally thinking of backtracking on the original release. However, I have a feeling that one day Hasbro will release ARAH versions.

Part of the problem is that you still have plenty of collectors out there apparently that just have to be able to say they have these figures. I just looked at some ebay listings and there's an auction with 3 Vipers that's currently at $345 with 5 days left. At least the seller listed with a $60 starting price.
Yeah this. I don't mind the other guns or the lack of the goggles and armband but TBH I'd rather trade that small rifle for the long rifle for the trooper
I’m a huge Joe fan and love my wave 1 figures - loose joints on SE aside. I just can’t allow myself to stay enthralled on a line that is THIS hard to collect. Star Wars is already tough, but at least with smart strategy I can get what I want. The normal collecting “rules” don’t apply to Classified right now so it’s just too much frustration to try. Hopefully things will change in future waves ala 25th. If anything, it’s a money saver to miss out. Hopefully my preorders for Flint and Lady Jaye come in well as I’m currently cherry-picking this line extensively.
So, I'm hearing that some stores are pushing back the release to 1/10 due to a reset. Most likely these stores are model stores for their areas and will be getting a visit the day of the reset from corporate to make sure the reset happened properly. The reason that would make them hold off on stocking new items is that they'll get reamed in the ass if the shelves are dead empty after the reset during their corporate visit. I was an inventory control manager and then a logistics manager for Target for a few years (not to mention eventually Wal-Mart) and I know... it doesn't make much sense from the customer's perspective, but to them, it's just a ten-day delay and a) toys aren't that big a deal to the retail chains and b) it'll still sell once it gets put out as far as their concerned.
I had 1 of the gi joe nijas in 6" and Amazon cancelled my order on him. It was the Storm Shadow nija gi joe 6" figure but still ticked off they did that cause on the same page theres scalpers selling over $25.
First in line at the store, then two more people showed up and we all decided on 2 vipers each. Then while waiting for them to get pulled from the back 2 more showed up. We did one each and then flipped a coin for the last one and I lost. At least got 1! Pretty congenial all things considered. Edit: according to popfindr, that was the only mine that sold any this morning...sigh. Went to another but they said they were still on a pallet and wouldn’t get unloaded for hours and now I’m at work for the day. *fingers crossed one is still in stock by the end of the day somewhere close*
Two different targets, two different days. I go in early and ask about the 6 vipers in stock they have, they say they can’t sell them until an unspecified “shelf restock” day and don’t get any for me from the back. This is after asking a couple different employees at each store too. A couple hours later and their number start dropping to 0. This is absolutely insane, if anybody somehow scores an extra please let me know, I won’t pay eBay scalper fees but I would offer a little extra for the trouble.
