Fully agreed; and it makes me think now that maybe, just maybe, the reason VW let TT make bumblebee as a licensed beetle is only due to the success this character has garnered over the Bay movies, among other media...? I really need VW allows Porsche Jazz! My original theory is that TT is actually keeping one of the most popular characters for later in the countdown to G1 season 1-2 releases, as marketing strategy.

 

Definitely excited if this is a hybrid as in Hasui style intuitive transformation, hybrid cartoon/G1 toy styling but with the poseability of current MP’s. Hope it has all the gimmicks the G1 toy had since those seemed fun.

Okay I guess, of all the "characters" out there Skids seems like kind of a strange choice.

 

I really wish this was for Generations.

 

To anyone confused as to why Skids is being made: he's a Diaclone Car, and MP has working through that group for a while. Also he's got a ton of repaint potential.

 

Problem there is the timeline's all wrong. VW first relented on their stance/decided to get in on that money and let Takara/Hasbro have the license with the first Masterpiece Bumblebee in 2014, 4 years before the Bumblebee movie.

 

Needs flames on the hood.

 

After seeing the designs of the 86 studio series, the MP line is an outdated, too too too expensive and just useless line now. End it and make a better generations series.

 

Best MP news I've heard since Hound was announced. Finally something to look forward to. 2021 is better than 2020 already.

 

Or they can just make a better Generations line for you to collect, and the rest of us who prefer the MP lines can carry on with collecting them. It's a win-win for everyone.

Even though VW owns Porsche, they are still separate companies. Not sure how much pull VW has over Porsche to greenlight a Jazz without causing some internal problems. Speculation of course, but think Disney and Marvel with a hands off approach.

Skids and the expected repaints will generate surplus cash for the eventual R&D of any Beast Wars and S3 characters. Skids could come with Jessie since it’s a hybrid design. There’s more to pull from the Marvel comic than the Cartoon.

This is basically an only toy character, first of all we should be happy to have a MP of that mold.
Of course they will go for the toy accuracy, a Skids fan is basically a Skids toy fan. They will paint it in toon color, but this is the only route.
Really, take a breath and sit down again, the MP line is toon centric.

 

Yep, that old Porsche/VW line has been debunked more than a few times (especially considering we already have Bumble Bee).

My complaint is Skids? C'mon man... super pass. Unless it's boxed with Jazz, I don't want it.

 

That means we get Skids before all the A-listers come out and the line is cancelled for lack of further interest. Works for me. If only the Omnibots were so lucky.
