"Everybody else has moved on to the new year, but we're still trapped in 2020! It's still 2020!" Happy New Year, everyone! ~L~
This is going to be the first New Years where it doesn't feel like a new beginning, more like things will be worse before they get better. But then again, I'm in So Cal, where it seems like we have everything from the strictest lockdowns, the only state with rising instead of falling unemployment numbers, my own job is still highly unstable as a result, and hey, we just reported our first case of the new and improved UK version of the Human Malware! So yay 2021.
Happy New Year greetings from Japan! Things are definitely much more subdued here than last year as far as holiday celebrations go. Still, with news of vaccines being prepared and distributed (even if things seem to get a bit worse before they get better), I'm optimistic about 2021 from a personal point of view. Planning to start online schooling to finish my IT degree and spend more time with the missus.
I always get nervous on new year's Eve. I always wonder what will happen in the new year. One mistake I make is what I plan to do. Fck that! I'mma do what I wanna do! I got 4 hours to go.
It's true, the change from one date to another is an arbitrary one. All of 2020's problems don't just disappear at the start of 2021, but even a symbolic gesture of renewal is better than none. I'm in Victoria, Australia, where we spent more than three months under the strictest lockdown the world had seen, so I know what you're going through on a 1:1 scale. Stay strong and just take every day as it comes and you'll get through it - just as we did. The first six months of this year are going to be hard, I won't lie, but we will see improvement if we continue to pull together and make 2021 better in any way we can. ~L~
