$24.99 for deluxes? At retail?

 

Different regions charge difference prices. One of the Targets near me is usually a couple bucks more and I was shocked to see the prices at the Targets in places like NYC and California.

My local Kroger’s in Cincinnati, OH (the one in Oakley) has the new Kingdom deluxes (all four of them) as well. $24.99 each. I got a Blackarachnia.

For those who don’t know, Krogers is mostly a grocery store chain. The locations that do carry toys are called Kroger Marketplace. They are almost always more expensive than places like Target etc. Kind of like how Walgreens carries toys - they don’t have a ton, don’t specialize in it and it’s usually at a markup.

 

They’re already in Cincinnati of all places? Talk about fast-timing. Kind of explains why all the shelves are barren.

 

I have preordered Blackarachnia from Amazon. She is expected to come to my house on February 8. 

 

Do yourself a favor, don't go look at Kroger's prices on Lego in their super stores.

 

Why are people surprised with the prices.  They did announce that the prices will be going up with the new line.  Also, if anyone is still looking for the Earthrise stuff, Walmart is clearing them out.  I believe deluxes are $10, voyagers $17, and Leaders for $25.  

 

Its kroger. They have higher prices usually for those things.

 

Krogers always marks them up to $24.99

i just wait for the Target save $10 on $50 or save $25 on $100, or BOGO 50% off sales

 

Reminder to all though, deluxes in Kingdom are going up to $22.99 MSRP. So $24.99 isn't AS bad.

 

Indeed, they aren't exactly a true "big box store" like the others.. still a somewhat localish level company. Hence less room for price negotiation.

 

Yeah hasbro is really milking this price hikes.
I remember when the excuse was because of oil..
Well thats been fairly low and abundant. Did we see price drops? Nope. But we did get smaller toys, more gaps and cheaper quality feeling plastic.

Thats something I'd love to get a good answer to at a botcon.

 

Engineers get paid more, shipping costs more, inflation. Who knows why prices keep going up on anything? But then again, I just bought ER Arcee for $6 and Netflix UM for $25, so I personally couldn't care less about what the MSRP is.

 

Exactly. As much as we miss the 10 dollar deluxes, that's over. Things are much more expensive now, and figures are better than they've ever been.

I'd rather take Kingdom Warpath than like Armada Cyclonus.
