Didn't see threads for the SS86 Deluxes, so here we go. Stumbled on these guys while searching for the voyagers, and they're pretty good.

I have and dislike the Reveal the Shield mold (that non-locking chest just kills him for me), but even still, I hadn't planned on picking this version up. He just looked too boring in photos. I'm pleased to report he's very satisfying in hand. First off, once you engage the ankle tilts, he looks great just standing there.

    He strikes a mean pose.

Rumor has it that the SS86 guys started life as WFC trilogy toys, and Jazz has the most evidence of that. His gun is the only of the three sculpted to accommodate a blast effect, although all three can be made to work with them.

He's also the only one with a 5mm port of any kind, used for weapons storage in robot mode.

Out of the box, the comes slightly misttransformed. The instructions acknowledge this though.

My RTS Jazz is in storage, so no comparisons pics unfortunately.

    Transformation!

    IMG_20201230_184127419_HDR_copy_1228x921.jpg

He copies the leg trick from the CW aeralbots, but on mine the knees are rather floppy and the tabs that hold the folding armature in place like to come loose. He's also got a very neat trick of spinning his abdomen around to get it out of the way of his arms in alt mode.

The alt mode is a little bit dorky looking, but I understand that's accurate to the cartoon, so fine. At least it has character?

    IMG_20201230_184215694_HDR_copy_1228x921.jpg

    IMG_20201230_184221840_HDR_copy_1228x921.jpg

As with robot mode, weapons store in the 5mm hole on the roof.

And of course it goes without saying that he blows the POTP figure out of the water. Better materials, better transformation, no combining gimmick to get in the way.

Definitely recommend. If you're like me and the RTS figure disappointed you, he's an easy pick up.

Just any Generation figure. Earthrise Wheeljack, Siege Mirage, Earthrise Ironhide, Combiner Wars Hound, Just any figure that looks G1 cartoonish. Just as long as the scale right.

God he looks good. This is very literally all I've wanted since they started making articulated Transformers in the 90s: An articulated update of my favorite childhood toy, Jazz.

This figure looks lovely, but with how much I love the RTS mold I can't quite bring myself to pick it up as a replacement.

Finally!! A worthy Jazz for a traditional G1 transformers collection.

RTS/United Jazz is still a really nice figure. But he was always too brawny and bulky to properly pull off the character. Plus the door wings were never right for Jazz.

This SS86 Jazz looks to be perfect. I hope to be lucky enough to get one.

Love all versions of Jazz, idk why everyone has an issue with the PotP version nor the RTS version.

None the less, i am still excited to get this one to go with my jazz collection.

Curious, what makes you say that the alt mode is dorky looking?

It's kinda...chibi? Like, the rear wheelbase is much wider than the front, which looks very odd on a non-F1 style race car. And the steep curve of the hood feels like a stylized exaggeration. The whole effect is not of a real car but if a cartoon car brought to life.

Hmmm, I could be wrong, because I'm just a casual car fan, but I think the wide rear wheels might be accurate to the 80s Martini GT car. The over accentuated curves and whale tail certainly is.

(I do see what you mean about the hood angle however)
