That chest looks pretty non-descript in botmode, due to its construction. I'd be quite happy if it came with a tiny 4-pack of heads-cartoon and toy 'Bee, Hubcap, and Bumper. Wouldn't be quite right for the last 2 of course, as the feet are a dead giveaway, but I sure wouldn't mind at that scale.

@Zentropy and @Megawillbot, your pictures really drive home the fact that NA should finally do Cliffjumper. Is there really no official word yet?

looks amazing, and I hope na does it. But man, each foot is as big as his torso. That’s a lot of feet.

wonder how easy or hard it would be to disassemble Herbie to convert it to Cliffjumper IF some enterprising individual out there would 3D print Cliffjumper panels or bits.

Keep in mind that was simply my digibash of a potential NA Cliff using rescaled feet from MMC's Hellion, but that's about the size you might expect using the Herbie mold. NA could potentially shorten up the hood for even tighter "penny racer" dimensions, but without completely re-engineering Herbie to move more mass to other parts of the body, Cliffjumper would almost necessarily have large feet. On a larger figure I could see the possibility of making part of the front clip from foldable panels that could move into a backpack, but at the legends scale it would be difficult to pull off.

Why would Disney care if they name their toy after Herbie Hancock?

This thing that doesn’t exist? its really growing on me.
And I’m oh so hoping they milk this mold the way they did that mini sovereign mold. cliffjumper. Bugbite. Goldstream. Those chibi camaros...

btw- do I have this right that most of these legends brands are pretty much the same scale... Except MFT is the slightly larger brand?

no. newage, magic square, iron factory, mech fan toys and some others… except for a handful that some have crossed over pending their own personal view of size for individual figures, are all pretty much in their own realm of scale unfortunately.

Newage and MST have approx the same size leaders (Optimus and Megatron) but for pretty much everybody else, NA is smaller. Can't really speak for Iron Factory - I only have their Arcee and Windblade. But yes, MFT is bigger - many of their figures - dinobots and carbots in particular - are almost exactly the same size as the original G1 toys.

I think IF changed scale at some point, too - I think their older figures are at a slightly smaller scale than newer ones (although I don't know when this change happened).

Shockwave is when I noticed it. Some older figures like the Dinobots, Scorpnok and Prime seem blend in okay, but the Blaster mold, Overlord and Sixshot seem a little too small next to the figures after Shockwave and the Seekers.

Herbie looks more fun to pose and also make him stand next to other legend scale figures. Flipper will probably be better to carry around IMO.

Flipper may not be cartoon accurate but the figure is small, compact and cute. I take him on trips :D
