And yet again the figures I want, they decide to not make.

I don't remember if this has been asked already, but since Selects of the regular Studio Series folk would be a legal nightmare, are Selects of the '86 cast fair game? I.E. Jazz -> Ricochet. And are any being considered?

When I read John Warden's quote about Siege being based on the Cybertron sequence from the first episode of G1, my first reaction was "oh sweet, we're finally gonna get toys of UFO Bumblebee, minivan Wheeljack, and hovercraft Jazz!"

    And then nah.

It's a classic Hasbro move, really. Like, of COURSE the toyline based on the first episode of G1 doesn't include the only three Autobots that actually transformed into Cybertronian alt-modes.

    @wreckgar39

Would a Selects style line be feasible for Studio Series?

I'm not saying this to discount your question, but what could they do that folks would buy?? Aside from say, Optimus and Bumblebee stealth/night decos, I can't think of anything.

Or maybe Lockdown's dogs or something??

Well there are the SS86 toys now that could be used. Probably asking about those, such as Ricochet/Stepper from Jazz. I'd like to see a Lost Light Hot Rod, those colors looked amazing on him.

I made a list for myself a while ago if it were to exist and follow the same rules as GS as in no new molds and just repaints then you can make:

    G1 Jazz out of SS10

    Rotf Smokescreen out of SS10

    G1 Ironhide out of SS14

    G1 Ratchet out of SS4/SS14

    G1 Starscream out of SS6/SS21

Nightwatch Optimus Prime out of SS32

    G1 Sideswipe out of SS29

    G2 Sideswipe out of SS29

    Rotf Swerve out of SS29

Nemesis Prime/Shattered Glass Prime out of SS38

    Rotf Whirl out of SS8

    DoTM Blaster out of SS51

    Stealth Bumblebee out of SS49

    07 Cliffjumper out of SS49

    G1 Soundwave out of SS51

I’m sure you can do more these are just some ideas

I've honestly completely forgotten about the old G1 decos they would do back then. That Soundwave in G1 colors could look pretty neat, thinking about it.

Oh, and there's that pink Starscream that's like, super rare. That could be a neat throwback.

It would've been nice for sure, but from what I've heard, Ferrari is ridiculously strict on their toy licensing.

Hahaha. I think when we were knee-deep in Prime Wars some of us thought the sky was the limit.
    Time to limit our expectations.
Or maybe Hasbro will still do those guys in 2023 and beyond if there are Unicron Trilogy or Prime toys they can share a mold with.

Very much this, I thought there was a chance they might even give us Euro G1 guys but those hopes have faded.
I really don't think I'm going to be buying much over the next two or more years.

You're not wrong that's for sure. Those are the last four I need before I can sail off into the collecting sunset. Irks me we didn't get them in TR. Once I get them (oooh soneday) I can say I have a complete collection, so I've become quite obsessed with them. Never be 100% out, but oh the feeling to have this box checked off

I find it wild we've had two voyager soundwaves in the last 2 years and neither of them are going to be used for blaster. Hell, just release him in selects. Give him a scrounge for some marvel comics bonus points.

Any chance of RID 2001/CAR Robots updated figures in the post KINGDOM CHUG lines?

That's been going on for a while. In Combiner Wars, they passed over some original combiners and gave us new combiner versions of figures that originally weren't combiners. In Titans Return, they skipped over several original Headmasters and gave us new Headmaster versions of figures that weren't originally Headmasters. In Power of the Primes, all Leader Class figures were a smaller robot that combine with a trailer or larger part of an animal alt mode. Absolutely none of those characters had precedent for that treatment and they passed over characters like Powermaster Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and Star Saber who would be perfect for that format. Then we get to Siege, where the theme is Cybertron alt modes and they passed over some characters that appeared in the G1 cartoon with Cybertronian alt modes in favor of including characters with made up Cybertronian alt modes. So yeah, Siege was right in line with everything before it.

Honestly, I'm not sure they could improve upon the designs. At least not the original molds from that series. Maybe the G1 and G2 repaints could be improved upon.

I'm guessing the Bros may be tough because they're licensed vehicles. Maaaaybe they find a way to fit this in the Studio line where I think the license is built in to the budget.

RiD2k was taking the BW engineering and applying it to vehicles. And since we're in the middle of a BW revival I wouldn't rule out revisiting RiD any time soon.

OK, so I read the first about 40 pages and by the time I got to around 43 I was crying tears of blood, so I’m just going to ask this and apologize if this has been addressed in the last 40 or so pages I missed:

The noted Dead Optimus, which was kicked off the SS86 roster, is that the Alternate Universe recolor we got here a few months ago or is this something else that is forthcoming?

And then they retconned the trip to Earth being met with Quints & Mercs for some reason. Then they retconned the 'bots & 'cons sleeping through a Beast Wars that has a timewarp that flung Roddy & Galvy's crews back. =/ It'd be nice to get the core figures those eras represent. But we unfortunately gotta wait a li'l longer for Cybertronian Jazz, Cybertronian Bumblebee, Cybertronian Wheeljack, Terrorsaur, Inferno, Tarantulus...

(I know 'Bee and Tarantulus are leaked/rumored, but still)

And the storyline for 2021's toyline may be dimensional shenanigans, seeing as we're getting more of a mix of Transformers universes in it. I have a feeling that it'll get even crazier from here.
