Another pending project that I will continue soon is my version of 'Dawn of the Predacus' Magnaboss. Alt modes and gestalt mode are ready. I still have to finish robot modes of Tigatron and Unit-3. Because these are hard to get and when available very expensive, I have created these myself. (I was not planning on spending $200-$250 on 2 deluxe class figures and shipping from US to The Netherlands also adds customs duties and taxes, so it would probably be over $300.) To make it a little easier for myself, I used 2 different figures than the original ones. For Tigatron I used CW Wheeljack instead of CW Breakdown and for Unit-3 used CW G2 Wildrider instead of CW Prowl/Streetwise. Of course it all has to do with the colors. And in the end, the differences in gestalt mode are not that big. I painted Silverbolt according to the cartoon artwork available from 'Dawn of the Predacus' instead of the 'sticker version' released at BotCon2016. Magnaboss's head is from Perfect Effect PC-03G instead of the original Superion head with stickers.
I know that these 3 had extra stickering on the BotCon2016 version. But I want Magnaboss just to look like the cartoon artwork. I did some painting on Silverbolt in torso mode (light brown). I'll probably leave it at that. Or are there any suggestions? I'm always open for that.
I was just curious, I wouldn't actually suggest much; homaging the BW Magnaboss trio's robot modes is up to you and I'm not familiar with the con artwork other than the one pic you posted. I'd definitely suggest doing something about Prowl's biceps that break up the streak in vehicle mode, the bit in a different plastic that Hasbro won't paint always bugged me. Every version of that mold I have has either been painted or reprolabelled. You could possibly also replace autobot emblems with maximal ones?
