According to Baba, they weren't able to fulfill those $98 preorders for Limited toon edition Downbeats. Baba said the manufacturer (Maketoys) ended up cancelling their shipment to them at the last minute and that all customers who preordered this new Downbeat repaint are being refunded instead.

 

Wow, is Maketoys not able to produce enough of these? Maybe they just wanna make sure they all sell?

I don't know. Baba said the same thing happened with other retailers but didn't specify which ones. However ShowZ, Toy Dojo, and TFSource had not problem receiving their stock from Maketoys fulfilling preorders. I think Baba started listing the new Downbeat later than everyone else and oversold what little stock MakeToys had left.
The new Downbeat couldn't even be found by Chinese sellers on Ebay or Taobao.
It's like Maketoys prioritized their stock for mostly USA retailers and ShowZ.

Here it is with livery decals added. I tried to followed it as much as the actual car that I find on google image search let me, lol. The windshield and wings didn't bother me as much as the front strip where they didn't cut it so it's not aligned. Also the sheet should have included ones for the faux wheel well on the legs in robot mode.

 

Are the stickers really that bad with the transparency through to the tampos? It looks like you need a white backing on them to stop the bleed through.

 

I would recommend covering them with a white sticker sheet first or paint over to get rid off the bleeding effect; though it's harder to make out what it says underneath on the windshield than on the wings (for me anyway).

 

Who has both and can do side by side?

 

Didn't put them on, but the outlone of the second sticker sheet matches the windows and headlights edges.

 

Were any QC issues addressed with this re-release? I recall the first one having some tabbing issues where the chest untabs easily with shoulder rotation.

 

Got mine today from ShowZ. No stickers. Bollocks. Toyhax it is, though.

@BuddaMonk - there’s definitely some issue in that area - ***my bad, I didn’t have the shoulders pegged in so it’s not so bad BUT it does still happen occasionally*** - along with a few others. The door wings are VERY loose, as are the wrists, and the rear windows on the back of the thighs pop off far too easily when you consider how much pressure you have to put on them in order to rotate them during transformation.

He looks good, though, and he’ll look even better once I’ve covered up those shitty tampos and painted his gun and missile.

 

You may want to get in touch with showz. They already confirmed here on tfw that the stickers were included from them.

 

Transformed my copy back to car mode and it was an easier experience than I thought it would be. So far I'm very happy with this purchase.

 

Already emailed ‘em. Tbh, though, having seen the photo someone posted here where the original tampos are still visible through the stickers I may just go straight to Toyhax anyway :S

 

What autobot sticker is everyone using on his chest? Just the generic toyhax autobot one?

 

Isn't it supposed to include stickers? You may want to contact ShowZ to get the missing stickers sent to you.
