Makes sense. With them having appeared in Dissidia, they designers have a "proper" character model to work from. In their defense, trying to design an action figure in the style of PAKs using only Yoshitaka Amano's artwork as a baseline probably isn't the easiest thing.
I wish it was her Esper form and that she came with and a Maduin stone. That was such an awesome bunch of characters with crazy specials So much uniqueness plus the 2 hidden characters, the possible death. That moment when you revisit Castle Figaro with the twins and get the dialog from them. Edgar: Several years and the little shrimp's grown into a whopping lobster! Sabin: And you're a king crab!
First time using Photoshop, had this idea for a photo with the Bring Arts Neku and a DS. Didn't quite turn out how I pictured it but good enough for a first try. Haha.
From July 20 2017 (regarding the Bring Arts 2B shown) From November 9 2017 From May 21 2018 And now... out of nowhere (at least, I missed any annoucement or news), preorders for Play Arts Kai 2B go up. 2-3 years ago I said I'd be 110% in for a PAK instead of a BA of 2B; so instantly preordered. 2 different versions: a standard one that comes with just 1 sword (Virtuous Contract ) and extra hands and a DX one that comes with the 2 swords (both Virtuous Contract and Virtuous Treaty), the same extra hands, 2 extra heads, and the robot pod (042A) (Kind of weird that the copyright notices say 2017 on them) As with the BA, I fully expect an A2, 9S and Kaine (especially now with the Nier Replicant remaster coming up) down the line. RIP wallet.
Hooray! The Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana cast is getting the Bring Arts treatment! I've been in love with this cast for 15+ years, after playing the Super Famicom fan-translated ROM all those years ago. Releasing as 2-packs, ala the Final Fantasy IX sets. Duran/Angela Kevin/Charlotte Hawkeye/Riesz I've linked the Amiami pages only for their cleaner gallery layout (IMO). The sets are actually a bit cheaper over at HLJ (!) and Hobby Search, around ~200Y and ~600Y less, respectively.
Didn’t realize that PAK 9S from Nier Automata just went up for preorder. Same deal as with 2B, there’s a regular version and a DX version, looks like just about the same inclusions/exclusions. The DX 9S set also comes with a pair of hands (one hand for himself, and another hand for 2B) holding the black-box cores.
PAK A2 from Nier Automata just went up for preorder at various sites as well. Same story as 2B and 9S: - Regular version comes with 1 sword, only the long hair, and the full costume. - DX version comes with more hands, a second sword, short and long hair parts, additional faces, and the "exploded" costume part.
Oh MAN!! They're re-releasing the Cloud and Fenrir set!! I remember way back when i was a wee baba I wanted this so bad but had like 2 cents to my name, BUT NOW I HAVE 3 SO I CAN BUY IT NOW!!! they're gonna screw me with the release day though just you watch...
Omg, if I can swing it when this comes out... this and if they do Vincent again, I get that one as well. Have the first Vincent, and wouldn't mind another
Man, I'm sorely tempted by the Deluxe bike set with Jessie and Cloud but can't justify getting another Cloud and don't really need the bike. PAK Jessie was wholly unexpected but welcomed so I preordered her as a standalone along with Rufus Shinra and Red XIII.
I got FF7R Tifa a couple of weeks ago, and I fully regret not preordering Aerith as well last year. I guess I'll hunt for her after she's released. I did preorder standalone Jessie as well; I didn't need Cloud and I didn't care for the bike, but Jessie is awesome.
I have the Remake V1 figures of Cloud and Barret. I don't think I could recoup what I paid for them on the aftermarket (even though they're new MISB) so I'm thinking of just opening both of them for display in my office at work and pairing them with Crisis Core Aerith for a trio party. I plan to display their V2 versions with the rest of the latest Remake figures at home (fighting opposite Reno, Rude, and Rufus), once I find some space on my shelves. PAKs, being so big, do take up a lot of display real estate!
I wish I could bring myself to spring for these figures... especially that bike set...loved that game.
Isn't QC on these PAK figures crap especially for what Square-Enix charges? I wonder if there are any improvements to this Cloud + Fenrir set.
I would have already bought Yuffie if the Moogle disguise was removable. Think I'll just wait for a release with just her regular outfit. I might wait to see if it's cheaper upon release like the others have been on Amazon Japan. I think they improved with their more recent-ish releases. The three FF7 Remake figures I own have been "fine" QC wise. Cloud and Barret V2's accessories fit really tight so I had to heat them up before I could pop Barret's alt head on or to peg in new hands. Then there's been no issue with Tifa since they included a peg board to plug the unused hands onto to keep the holes from shrinking when not on a wrist peg. Nothing has broken and the paint is pretty good on all of them.
Idk about the PAK but the original Playarts I have have no issues whatsoever, of the Kai I do have which is red katana Batman he's solid AF, I got 2 KOs Vadar and Maul and even the KOs are legit and feel great, the only other Playarts I have is Ichicgo and again I don't have any problems with him, but the overall design and aesthetic leaves a bit to be desired
I guess this thread isn't used much; there's not that much excitement for PAKs or BAs. I'm waiting on some more stuff to get in stock before I ship out my Nier Automata 2B/9S/A2 out. I also preordered the FF7R Aerith Dress ver. The joints on the arms are a little on the unsightly side, though. I'm happy she comes with the alternate face, but SUPER-disappointed she doesn't come with another fan-favorite accessory. (using spoiler tags, just in case) Spoiler The official Square-Enix pics even have her in the right pose too from that scene, but no chair accessory! Now bring on the Tifa Dress ver! In terms of Bring Arts, I'm REALLY tempted by the Weltall-ID, but man that thing is expensive for what it is.
